Magnetobiology written by Vladimir N. Binhi and has been published by Elsevier this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2002-03-08 with Science categories.

People are immersed in electromagnetic fields from such sources as power lines, domestic appliances, mobile phones, and even electrical storms. All living beings sense electric fields, but the physical origins of the phenomenon are still unclear. Magnetobiology considers the effects of electromagnetic fields on living organisms. It provides a comprehensive review of relevant experimental data and theoretical concepts, and discusses all major modern hypotheses on the physical nature of magnetobiological effects. It also highlights some problems that have yet to be solved and points out new avenues for research. Why do some people feel unwell during a lightning storm? Why is there a correlation between the level of electromagnetic background and the incidence of cancer? Why do so many medical centers use electromagnetic exposures to treat a wide variety of disorders in humans? The international scientific community is extremely interested in a theory of magnetobiology and the answers to these and other questions, as evidenced by the growing number of research associations in the United States, Europe, and other parts of the world. The World Health Organization (WHO) has named electromagnetic contamination in occupational and residential areas as a stress factor for human beings. This book stands out among recent texts on magnetobiology because it draws on a strong foundation of empirical and theoretical evidence to explain the various effects of magnetic fields on the human body. It contains the first comprehensive collection of experimental data bearing physical information, frequency and amplitude/power spectra, and original research data on how electromagnetic fields interfere with ions and molecules inside the proteins of living organisms. Introduction is written so that it will be understandable to a wide scientific community regardless of their specialisation First comprehensive collection of experimental data bearing physical information, frequency and amplitude/power spectra Original theoretical research data on the interference of ions and molecules inside proteins Appendix covers physical questions most relevant for magnetobiology. In particular there is an original exposition of the magnetic resonance basic principles

Philippines is an archipelago which comprises of different islands. The country is known for its world's greatest biodiversity and abundant natural resources. Its geographical location is on the Pacific Ring of Fire and close to the equator which makes the country prone to earthquakes and typhoons. The Philippines' primary source of livelihood is its fertile land; rich and wide plains suitable for farming. The country's six major crops are rice, corn, Sugarcane, coconut, abaca and tobacco. Except for rice and corn, all these products are exported, along with bananas and pineapples. Cordillera Administrative Region being one of the regions which produce great amount of crops having 137,203 hectares of agricultural area or 7.5% of the total land area. It is known as one of the primary source provider of varieties of crops, fruits and vegetables which supplies most areas and provinces in Luzon. Most of the natives in the region rely on farming as their livelihood and Source of food but due to conversion of lands it becomes one of the reasons why supply and production count of the local produce drops. With that, it may lead to food shortage at some areas and provinces whose supplies are coming from them. According to UN (United Nations) and FAO (Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations), due to rapid urban growth the developments are now leaning towards the rural areas which causes unbalanced food availability, resource scarcity, climate change, unsustainable production and consumption patterns and including generation of food waste all because of conversion of lands. All of these have important developmental implications for both urban and rural areas. The thesis goal is to respond with all the challenges mentioned by offering strategies, framework and modules that will help in preserving the diminishing amount of agricultural lands in Baguio and Benguet. It will further develop the existing and future land use planning and zoning to improve the distribution of food, providing nutritious and fresh produce for human consumption and protecting law in preserving and developing agricultural lands.

Bioelectromagnetism written by Shoogo Ueno and has been published by CRC Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2022-06-16 with Science categories.

Bioelectromagnetism has been gradually developing and expanding into a variety of fields in engineering, biomedical engineering, life science, medicine and biology. Bioelectromagnetism: History, Foundations and Applications provides an overview of the field and its developments; from its inception and growth through the twenty-first century, to the latest advances in electro- and magnetobiology and hazard evaluations of electromagnetic fields. It is organized into three sections, each focusing on specific regions of bioelectromagnetism. It begins with the foundations of the field and its history, with a chronological treatment of the major subjects in bioelectromagnetism. The relationship between atmospheric electromagnetic phenomena, geomagnetism and biological systems are presented. It then discusses the many benefits of bioelectromagnetism: electroreception, magnetic navigation, magnetic sense and magnetic responses of plants, birds, animals and humans. It then moves on to human health issues and the impact of bioelectromagnetism. It also provides practical guidance on how to set safety guidelines. Finally, it looks forward to the future prospects of the field based on the latest research in the field. In exploring both the history of the field and the latest developments in today’s research advances, this book provides a comprehensive and self-contained treatment on the subject, which will be a valuable reference for researchers in biophysics, medicine, electrical engineering and biomedical engineering. It can be used as a companion to the editor’s previously published books: Biomagnetics: Principles and Applications of Biomagnetic Stimulation and Imaging (9781482239201, 2016, CRC Press); and Bioimaging: Imaging by Light and Electromagnetics in Medicine and Biology (9780367203047, 2020, CRC Press). Key Features: Provides both a historical view of the field, along with the latest developments in the field Contains practical guidance for researchers on how to set safety guidelines for those working in the area Edited by authorities in the field, with chapter contributions from specialists
