For the average young black man growing up in the southern United States during the 60's was to realize that the oppressive Jim Crow laws that dehumanized and degraded black people and their ancestors of the past, was still very much enacted and very active in and around Crawford. A southern rural Community approximately 10 miles west of Phenix City, Alabama the unchallenged idea of prevalence in the white society had uncompromising and terrible physical rebuttal for its victims. Bobby L. Hodge, Jr. Has attempted to illustrate a very diabolical but realistic fiction depicting the life and times of Jesse Hodge during the tremulous times of his life, Faced with oppression, Jesse was rebellious and criminally cunning. Determined by his fate to live a life on his own terms, he constantly found himself in a desperate attempt to elude the law, but his less than evasive karma surrounding the life in which he had created for himself was too great to overcome

Nothing illegal, nothing like blackmail, something just a shade this side. At least that was the way Barney Calhoun had it figured. It looked like the easiest ten thousand bucks he'd ever make. And she was lovely, though in the end she led him to murder... An ex-cop turned private eye ought to know all the answers on how to commit the perfect crime. But somewhere along the line, he slipped up, and before he realized it they had him where the hair was short.

Adaptive Dynamics written by J. E. R. Staddon and has been published by MIT Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2001 with Business & Economics categories.

In this book J.E.R. Staddon proposes an explanation of behavior that lies between cognitive psychology, which seeks to explain it in terms of mentalistic constructs, and cognitive neuroscience, which tries to explain it in terms of the brain. Staddon suggests a new way to understand the laws and causes of learning, based on the invention, comparison, testing, and modification or rejection of parsimonious real-time models for behavior. The models are neither physiological nor cognitive: they are behavioristic. Staddon shows how simple dynamic models can explain a surprising variety of animal and human behavior, ranging from simple orientation, reflexes, and habituation through feeding regulation, operant conditioning, spatial navigation, stimulus generalization, and interval timing.

Hip hop is a global form of creative expression. In Cuba, Brazil, and Haiti, rappers refuse the boundaries of hip hop’s US genesis, claiming the art form as a means to empower themselves and their communities in the face of postcolonial racial and class violence. Despite the geographic and linguistic borders that separate these artists, Charlie Hankin finds in their music and lyrics a common understanding of hip hop’s capacity to intervene in the public sphere and a shared poetics of neighborhood, nation, and transatlantic yearnings. Situated at the critical intersection of sound studies and Afro-diasporic poetics, Break and Flow draws on years of ethnographic fieldwork and collaboration, as well as an archive of hundreds of songs by more than sixty hip hop artists. Hankin illuminates how new media is used to produce and distribute knowledge in the Global South, refining our understanding of poetry and popular music at the turn of the millennium.
