Das Thema der Studie lautet: Produkt- und Warennamen als besondere Namenkategorie, exemplifiziert an den Namen der IKEA-Produkte. Konsumenten begegnen pro Tag einer Flut von Waren und Produkten, welche mit den kuriosesten und oftmals unaussprechlichsten Namen gepr gt sind. Hinter diesen Namengebungen stecken oftmals komplexe Marketingstrategien, welche auf der einen Seite f r die unternehmerischen T tigkeiten unabdingbar sind und auf der anderen Seite dabei helfen sollen, den Waren und Produkten einen einzigartigen und gleichzeitig sowohl aufmerksamkeitserregenden als auch einpr gsamen Charakter zu verleihen. Ausgangspunkt der Untersuchung bilden die Namen, die das Unternehmen IKEA seinen Produkten gibt. Damit jedoch diese Namen und Benennungen angemessen beschrieben und untersucht werden k nnen, werden zu Beginn der Studie die begrifflichen und theoretischen Grundlagen eingehend dargestellt sowie im Anschluss auf sprachliche, juristische und konomische Auslegungen gepr ft. Weiterhin wird darauf eingegangen, dass es sich bei Produkt- und Warennamen um eine besondere Namenkategorie handelt. Hierbei wird zum einen auf die Abgrenzung zwischen den Begriffen 'Name' und 'Appellativ' eingegangen, zum anderen werden die damit verbundenen Abgrenzungsschwierigkeiten behandelt. Im Anschluss daran werden die speziellen Charakteristiken von Produkt- und Warennamen aufgezeigt, welche sie somit als besondere und eigenst ndige Namenkategorie kennzeichnen. Die Studie hat ihren Schwerpunkt im Bereich der namenstheoretischen berlegungen, der Untersuchung von Klassifikationsm glichkeiten sowie der kritischen Abw gung von Begriffsdefinitionen. Hierbei wurde der konkrete Fall immer in Bezug auf die Produkt- und Warennamen der IKEA-Produkte gesetzt, sodass sich diese umsichtig ausgef hrte Untersuchung als Veranschaulichung und 'Aufh nger' pr sentiert sich noch ausf hrlicher mit dem Themengebiet spezieller 'Namen' und den damit verbundenen 'Namenkategorien' auseinanderzusetzen.
