Pemilihan varietas padi yang tepat, memantau kondisi tanaman dengan baik dan memperhatikan kualitas air yang digunakan, petani dapat meraih hasil panen yang optimal dengan cara yang ramah lingkungan. Keuntungan dan manfaat dari budidaya padi ladang, di antaranya: 1). Meningkatkan kesejahteraan petani, karena memiliki harga jual yang tinggi di pasaran sehingga dapat meningkatkan pendapatan petani; 2). Meningkatkan ketahanan pangan nasional, karena pasokan beras dapat terpenuhi sehingga dapat mengurangi ketergantungan impor beras dari luar negeri; 3). Membantu mengatasi perubahan iklim. Padi ladang berfungsi sebagai penyerap karbon dioksida sehingga dapat membantu mengurangi efek rumah kaca dan dapat membantu menjaga keseimbangan ekosistem; 4). Meningkatkan kualitas tanah. Padi ladang membutuhkan pupuk organik yang mampu mengembalikan kualitas tanah yang rusak sehingga dapat membantu menjaga kesuburan tanah; 5). Memberikan peluang usaha bagi masyarakat sekitar dengan membuka usaha sarana produksi pertanian.

This book presents a technical review of ecological and life history information on a range of Bornean wildlife species, aimed at identifying what makes these species sensitive to timber harvesting practices and associated impacts. It addresses three audiences: 1) those involved in assessing and regulating timber harvesting activities in Southeast Asia, 2) those involved in trying to achieve conservation goals in the region, and 3) those undertaking research to improve multipurpose forest management. This book shows that forest management can be improved in many simple ways to allow timber extraction and wildlife conservation to be more compatible than under current practices. The recommendations can also be valuable to the many governmental and non-governmental organisations promoting sustainable forest management and eco-labelling. Finally, it identifies a number of shortcomings and gaps in knowledge, which the hope can interest the scientific community and promote further research. This review is, an important scientific step toward understanding and improving sustainable forestry practices for long-term biodiversity conservation. Even in the short term, however, significant improvements can be made to improve both conservation and the efficiency of forest management, and there is no need to delay action due to a perceived lack of information. In the longer term it is expected that the recommendations from this review will be implemented, and that further research will continue to help foster an acceptable balance among the choices needed to maintain healthy wildlife populations and biodiversity in a productive forest estate.

Considerable progress has been made in our healthcare system, in particular with respect to sensitive diagnostic tools, reagents and very effective and precise drugs. On the other hand, high-throughput screening technology can screen vast numbers of compounds against an array of targets in a very short time, and leads thus - tained can be further explored. In developing countries, the exploding population exerts pressure not only on natural resources but also on the human population - self, whose members strive to become successful and advance in society. This leads to increased blood pressure, anxiety, obesity-associated lipid disorders, cardiov- cular diseases and diabetes. Herbal drugs, in addition to being cost effective and easily accessible, have been used since time immemorial and have passed the test of time without having any side effects. The multitarget effects of herbs (holistic approaches) are the fun- mental basis of their utilization. This approach is already used in traditional systems of medicine like Ayurveda, which has become more popular in the West in recent years. However, the integration of modern science with traditional uses of herbal drugs is of the utmost importance if ones wishes to use ancient knowledge for the betterment of humanity.
