Have you or someone you know been a victim of bullying? The Devastating Effects Of Bullying Childhood bullying is on the rise, according to some studies, but can it actually cause death? According to the CDC, suicide accounts for 4,400 deaths per year in young people. This, of course, doesn't take the number of missed suicide attempts into consideration. A Yale University study found that those who are being bullied are estimated to be between 2-9 times more likely to contemplate suicide than those who aren't being bullied. ABC News reported that every day 160,000 kids stay home from school due to fear of bullying. Many high-profile bullying cases have garnered attention to the link between bullying and suicide across the globe in recent years. While, in the past, bullying could easily be brushed off as “kids being kids” or just a part of growing up, it can no longer be ignored. From children being bullied for their sexuality to the types of toys they play with, it's becoming a very real problem that can't always be brushed off by ignoring the tormentor. The New Age Of Bullying Social networking sites and texting have been blamed for the recent rise in bullying, especially since these add a level of anonymity not felt or seen in the past. Pictures, messages, and posts can spread like wildfire and what goes on online can infiltrate the classroom and the “real world.” In the following book, we'll go over some of the most recent child suicide cases instigated by bullying. While most cases are those who were teenagers at the time of their deaths, some have been as young as 11- and 12-years-old. By learning what to look for in a victim and gaining awareness of early warning signs, it might be possible to prevent the tragedy before it happens. And with more awareness and education on the parts of teachers, parents, and other adults involved in the child's life, bullying could even be curtailed in the future. Time For Change After reading these stories, hopefully it will shed some more light on how serious bullying is and you will feel inspired to join others and take a stand against it. For those who survived & those who didn't A lot of research went into the creation of this book. A lot of memory and personal experience went into it. It's a subject I have been passionate about for a long time but one that I find incredibly difficult to fully confront. The scars of such psychological abuse stays with you for years, maybe forever. I'm not silly enough to believe we will ever eradicate bullying fully but I think we definitely need more awareness of how big of a deal it can really be, more support for victims, and more consequences for bullies themselves. It is child on child abuse and it's damaging. This collection features poetry, personal experiences, and facts about bullying and the effects of it, which sometimes lead to the "Bullycide" phenomenon.

This is a training manual designed to reduce bullying behaviors in teens and prevent teen suicide. This program combines four approaches designed to build student social emotional learning, problem solving and coping skills while building self-worth through personal growth. 1) S.T.E.A.M.: science, technology, engineering, the arts, and mathematics. 2) Experiential learning using the EAGALA Modal: equine assisted growth and learning association. This manual is a research evidence-based curriculum, using activities (non-verbal/verbal) that require students to engage with horses, intellectually, emotionally, socially, and physically as individual and/or as part of a group to problem solve. Students are guided to solve personal life issues metaphorically, with horses. 3) Portfolios centered around S.T.E.A.M., which helps students organize their learning in a way that strengthens and motivates their experience. 4) 9 senses where students are taught both internal and external communication awareness. This curriculum allows students to take responsibility and engage actively in their own learning.
