Praktik peracikan obat lazim dilakukan oleh dokter di Indonesia sehingga dokter perlu untuk mengetahui prinsip-prinsip yang benar mengenai proses peracikan obat khususnya untuk pasien anak. Sejalan dengan bagian pertama, bagian kedua, ketiga, dan keempat membahas penggunaan antibiotik untuk manajemen penyakit infeksi. Penyakit-penyakit infeksi yang sering terjadi pada pasien anak seperti infeksi saluran napas atas, infeksi kulit, dan tuberkulosis menjadi topik utama. Pada bagian kelima, alergi diangkat menjadi salah satu topik karena insidensi yang semakin meningkat, khususnya alergi terhadap makanan. Sebagai benang merah, tata laksana muntah menjadi topik bahasan berikutnya karena muntah menjadi salah satu gejala penyakit yang paling sering muncul pada anak. Selanjutnya, pada bagian ketujuh, ketoasidosis diabetes menjadi salah satu topik yang penting untuk dibahas karena kondisi ini sering dijumpai pada pasien anak dengan diabetes tipe 1. Tidak jarang pasien anak dengan ketoasidosis diabetes menunjukkan gejala muntah seperti yang dibahas pada topik sebelumnya. Selanjutnya, topik-topik yang dibahas merupakan topik yang berdiri sendiri yang sangat penting untuk selalu diperbaharui. Bagian kedelepan buku ini mengetengahkan pembahasan mengenai manajemen kejang pada anak. Bagian kesembilan dan kesepuluh membahas pentingnya deteksi dini penyakit kanker dan jantung bawaan sedangkan bagian kesebelas dan keduabelas membahas stunting dan perkembangan bicara pada anak. Pada bagian terakhir, informasi terbaru mengenai kurva normal pertumbuhan bayi, khusus bayi Indonesia dipaparkan dengan sangat jelas.

The Ombudsman investigated three cases in which local statutory supervision of midwives failed, all of which occurred at Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust. The cases clearly illuminate a potential muddling of the supervisory and regulatory role of supervisors of midwives. The current arrangements do not always allow information about poor care to be escalated effectively into hospital clinical governance or the regulatory system. This means the current system operates in a way that risks failure to learn from mistakes, which cannot be in the interests of the safety of mothers and babies and must change. Working with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC), the Professional Standards Authority for Health and Social Care, NHS England and the Department of Health, the Ombusdman has identified two key principles that will form the basis of proposals to change the system of midwifery regulation: that midwifery supervision and regulation should be separated; that the NMC should be in direct control of regulatory activity. The Department of Health should convey these recommendations to its counterparts in Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales and develop proposals to put these principles into effect.

The report presents detailed, up-to-date information on nutritional status, programme implementation and related indicators for the 24 countries where 80 per cent of the world’s stunted children live. While this report is a call to action for these 24 high-burden countries, it also highlights the need for accelerated efforts to reduce undernutrition in all countries.
