Water And Cities In Latin America written by Ismael Aguilar-Barajas and has been published by Routledge this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2015-05-08 with Technology & Engineering categories.

Approximately 80 per cent of the population of Latin America is concentrated in urban centres. Pressure on water resources and water management in cities therefore provide major challenges. Despite the importance of the issues, there has been little systematic coverage of the topic in book form. This work fills a gap in the literature by providing both thematic overviews and case study chapters. It reviews key aspects of why water matters in cities and presents case studies on topics such as groundwater management, green growth and water services, inequalities in water supply, the financing of water services and flood management. Detailed examples are described from Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, Mexico and Peru, and there is also a chapter comparing lessons which might be learnt from US cities. Contributing authors are drawn from both within and outside the region, including from the Inter-American Development Bank, OECD and World Bank to set the issues in a global context.

Boundaries Phases And Interfaces written by Olga Fernández-Soriano and has been published by John Benjamins Publishing Company this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2017-06-15 with Language Arts & Disciplines categories.

This book approaches the concept of boundary, central in linguistic theory, and the related notion of phase from the perspective of the interaction between syntax and its interfaces. A primary notion is that phases are the appropriate domains to explain most interface linguistic phenomena and that the study of (narrow) interfaces helps to understand conditions on the internal structure of the Language Faculty. The first part of this volume is dedicated to introducing the notion of boundary, cycle and phase, and also the current debates regarding internal interfaces, in particular, the syntax-phonology, syntax-semantics, syntax-discourse, syntax-morphology and syntax-lexicon interfaces, in order to show how the notion of boundary/phase is related to (or even determines) most of their characteristics. The four sections of the second part deal with (morpho)phonology/ syntax and the role or boundaries/phases; the syntax-discourse and syntax-semantics interface; and the lexicon-syntax interface, while the notion of boundary/phase cross-cuts the main topics addressed.

Air Pollution written by Mara Llop and has been published by Bentham Science Publishers this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2011 with Business & Economics categories.

Annotation Environmental pollution has received the attention of both economists and ecologists who have integrated their ideas and concepts in recent decades. Production and consumption of material goods generates residuals that are disposed in the environment. Air emissions constitute one of the most important residuals, including greenhouse gases, as well as localized substances toxic to human health and the environment. How economic activity affects gas emissions is valuable information for pollution control and is extremely useful for defining and implementing successful environmental policies, aimed at improving the global efficiency of an economy. The e-book presents the relationship between economic activities and air pollution. It describes research contributions focused on showing the properties and the usefulness of National Accounting Matrices with Environmental Accounts (NAMEA). Additionally, demonstrates the most recent advances in the input-output methodology and linear extended multisectorial models to capture the gas emissions processes with empirical applications of these methods to specific countries. The contents of the e-book make it an interesting platform of new knowledge for both academic public and people in national agencies of environmental regulation

I was born in Malaga - Spain in 1972.From a child, I always I liked photography, and tried to see the things through a lens and to catch reality. When I was studying in the School of Applied Arts,in Malaga, where the speciality was fashion and Design, in the class, photography was taught as an option and my friends began calling to ask if they could become models for me. I was captivated with their posing and I loved interpreting everything they were asking of me. I always concentrated on the light, how it played with them and how they were giving their form to my thoughts. After a time I went to live in Seville and began a new stage in my life, working as a lighting technician for television programs, and this was when I really fell in love with light and its power to modify reality and form. Before I was only concentrating on the faces
