BEYOND that Queen of the Woods one could see Cerva as the "Borgo del Castagno" or, again, "Borgo dei Murales". These are the essential characteristics of this small village of Catanzaro's presila. Getting to Cerva almost feels like arriving in another dimension, a bit because the road that climbs the mountain and the hairpin bends give you the idea of having reached a goal, a bit because the view up here is truly breathtaking giving the feeling to be, at the same time, embraced by the beauty of the sea and the charm of the mountain. In the narrow streets and uphill of the historic center of the village, time seems to pass more slowly, the environment and the atmosphere that you breathe all around naturally leads you to pleasant reflections. The walk through the narrow streets, characterized by the famous "Murales", almost gives the idea of returning to the past, each painting recalls ancient crafts, traditions, uses and local customs that delight the eyes and, above all, excite. Then we arrive at the Chestnut Museum, a magical place for those who want to immerse themselves in the history and processing of this fruit that has fed many local generations and which, even today, conditions the economy of the country. Not only the historic center and Murales but the small village of Cerva binds tourism also and above all to its environmental heritage, in fact, at 1000 meters from the inhabited center, it is possible to immerse yourself in nature reaching the Oasis of Donaglie, a beautiful town surrounded by pines, secular chestnut trees, oaks, firs and beeches, a true earthly paradise. Cerva is a place that deserves to be visited, to be lived with the spirit of those who really want to touch the traditions and customs of the past, in an era that tends to forget. An invitation from me and from all my Administrative Team to come to CERVA, to personally experience an experience that is difficult to tell if not lived, an invitation to "breathe" and "remember" a past that, in Cerva , he never left. OLTRE che Regina dei Boschi si potrebbe vedere Cerva come il “Borgo del Castagno” o, ancora, “Borgo dei Murales”. Sono queste le caratteristiche essenziali di questo piccolo borgo della presila catanzarese. Arrivare a Cerva sembra quasi di arrivare in un’altra dimensione, un po' perché la strada che si arrampica sulla montagna e i tornanti ti danno l’idea di aver raggiunto un traguardo, un po' perché il panorama quassù è davvero mozzafiato dando la sensazione di essere, nello stesso momento, abbracciato dalla bellezza del mare e dal fascino della montagna. Nelle vie strette e in salita del centro storico del borgo il tempo sembra passare più lentamente, l’ambiente e l’atmosfera che si respira tutt’intorno ti porta, naturalmente, a piacevoli riflessioni. La passeggiata fra i vicoli, caratterizzati dai famosi “Murales”, dà quasi l’idea di tornare al passato, ogni dipinto richiama antichi mestieri, tradizioni, usi e costumi locali che deliziano gli occhi e, soprattutto, emozionano. Si arriva, poi, al Museo della Castagna, luogo magico per chi vuole immergersi nella storia e nella lavorazione di questo frutto che ha sfamato tante generazioni locali e che, ancora oggi, condiziona l’economia del paese. Non solo centro storico e Murales ma il piccolo borgo di Cerva lega il turismo anche e soprattutto al suo patrimonio ambientale infatti, a 1000 metri dal centro abitato, è possibile immergersi nella natura raggiungendo l’Oasi di Donaglie, una stupenda località immersa fra pini, castagni secolari, querce, abeti e faggi, un vero paradiso terrestre. Cerva è un luogo che merita di essere visitato, di essere vissuto con lo spirito di chi vuole davvero toccare con mano le tradizioni e i costumi del passato, in un’epoca che tende a dimenticare. Un invito, da parte mia e di tutta la mia Squadra Amministrativa, a venire a CERVA, a vivere personalmente un’esperienza che è difficile da raccontare se non vissuta, un invito a “respirare” e a “ricordare” un passato che, a Cerva, non è mai andato via. This book examines diachronic change and diversity in the morphosyntax of Romance varieties spoken in Italy. These varieties offer an especially fertile terrain for research into language change, because of both the richness of dialectal variation and the length of the period of textual attestation. While attention in the past has been focussed on the variation found in phonology, morphology, and vocabulary, this volume examines variation in morphosyntactic structures, covering a range of topics designed to exploit and explore the interaction of the geographical and historical dimensions of change. The opening chapter sets the scene for specialist and non-specialist readers alike, and establishes the conceptual and empirical background. There follow a series of case studies investigating the morphosyntax of verbal and (pro)nominal constructions and the organization of the clause. Data are drawn from the full range of Romance dialects spoken within the borders of modern Italy, ranging from Sicily and Sardinia through to Piedmont and Friuli. Some of the studies narrow the focus to a particular construction within a particular dialect; others broaden out to compare different patterns of evolution within different dialects. There is also diversity in the theoretical frameworks adopted by the various contributors. The book aims to take stock of both the current state of the field and the fruits of recent research, and to set out new results and new questions to help move forward the frontiers of that research. It will be a valuable resource not only for those specializing in the study of Italo-Romance varieties, but also for other Romanists and for those interested in exploring and understanding the mechanisms of morphosyntactic change more generally.
