"Canal de Desvio" é um estudo que pretende analisar as experiências dos agricultores e dos indígenas envolvidos no conflito com a Itaipu Binacional, quando da desapropriação das terras do oeste paranaense para formação do lago da hidrelétrica. Partindo da localização do projeto e da descrição geográfica e humana da área afetada, a obra passa por uma análise das diferentes culturas envolvidas, das consequências do avanço do capitalismo na região e do projeto hidrelétrico enquanto projeto de desenvolvimento. Situa a construção da hidrelétrica binacional no contexto político nacional, inserida em um regime político autoritário e em uma proposta de desenvolvimento calcada em grandes projetos e endividamento do país junto aos bancos internacionais. Analisa especificamente o conflito entre agricultores e Itaipu e entre índios e Itaipu, detendo-se nos momentos mais importantes do confronto, examinando as táticas e estratégias de cada um dos envolvidos, as alianças estabelecidas e o papel da imprensa no processo.

O Dicionário Geotécnico de Barragens – Português/Inglês é um glossário contemporâneo com cerca de 10.000 palavras, expressões e termos utilizados com frequência na Geotecnia, principalmente na Engenharia de Barragens. Permite a consulta do termo em inglês e português para auxiliar na tradução de projetos, manuais técnicos, apresentações, relatórios e afins, com termos abrangentes às áreas técnicas e científicas. A abrangência refere-se às barragens de acumulação de água para abastecimento, produção e geração de energia elétrica, bem como barragens de mineração, diques e todas as estruturas auxiliares. Os dicionários remontam aos tempos antigos. Acredita-se que tenham se originado na Mesopotâmia por volta de 2.600 a.C.; feitos em tabletes de escrita cuneiforme, informando repertórios de signos, nomes de profissões, divindades e objetos usuais, e funcionavam como dicionários unilíngues. Os gregos no século I criaram os lexicons para catalogar os usos das palavras da língua grega. Os gregos e os romanos já os utilizavam para esclarecimentos de dúvidas, termos e conceitos. Todavia não eram organizados em ordem alfabética. Limitavam-se às definições de termos linguísticos ou literários. Foi somente no fim da Idade Média que houve o surgimento de dicionários e glossários organizados alfabeticamente. Quando as glosas desses manuscritos latinos tornaram-se numerosas, os monges as ordenaram alfabeticamente para facilitar a localização. Com isso, surgiu uma primeira tentativa de dicionário bilíngue latim-vernáculo. Com o advento da imprensa, no século XV, alavancou-se a difusão e o uso de novos dicionários. O estilo de dicionário que usamos atualmente foi incorporado no renascimento com o objetivo de traduzir as línguas clássicas para as modernas, em função da bíblia.
