“Alpe Appennina” è oggi un sito ed una rivista, dedicata allo studio della storia e delle storie di luoghi, genti e persone del territorio che il titolo richiama. Nasce da un’intuizione di Pier Giovanni Fabbri (1941-2017), letterato e storico della Romagna. Focalizzerà, naturalmente, sulla Romagna toscana, l’alta Valtiberina e il Casentino, senza però limiti geografici precisi: tutte le vicende, le storie, gli studi che possono avere rilevanza per questa zona vi avranno cittadinanza. “Alpe Appennina” era il termine con cui i fiorentini designavano le montagne fra Romagna e Toscana, i cui versanti appartenevano per intero al loro stato. A lungo considerata come una terra senza storia, l’Alpe appennina era di fatto una barriera naturale fra stati diversi, eppure continuamente trafficata, varcata da mercanti, pellegrini, personale di governo ed eserciti, sede di vivaci centri urbani. Il primo numero della rivista è soprattutto dedicato all’Alta Valle del Savio. Inizia con un lungo articolo di Pier Giovanni Fabbri dedicato alle comunità del Capitanato di Bagno verso la metà del Cinquecento. Prosegue con un lavoro di Silvano Fabiani sull’Oratorio della Madonna del Carmine a Bagno di Romagna. Alessio Boattini ci porta nelle campagne dell’Alta Val Savio, per raccontare una vicenda di amore, fra campi di grano e veglie contadine agli inizi del Settecento. Ci spostiamo in Alta Val Tiberina per il contributo di Giuliano Marcuccini sui Corazzini di Bulciano e sulla loro amicizia con Giosuè Carducci. L’ultimo articolo, di Claudio Bignami, contiene alcune testimonianze dal mondo delle piccole scuole rurali, veri e propri avamposti della cultura e dell’alfabetizzazione in anni non troppo lontani.
