This book presents a detailed account of two analytic case studies examined through the particular viewpoint of creativity. The first part of the book contains a review of the classical and contemporary literature on the source and function of creativity. Creativity is then examined from the perspective of several analytic models - Freudian, Kleinian, and post-Kleinian. The second and third parts of the book present case illustrations that deal with the use of creative activity in analysis. The creative use of biblical stories in the case of David, or the use of paintings and poems in the case of Rachel, portrayed the inner reality of these patients. David's violent and incestuous biblical stories reflected his world of incestuous and destructive wishes towards his primary objects (and towards the therapist in the transference). Rachel's paintings and poems conveyed her unconscious conflicts, depressive fantasies and anxieties, stemming from her fusion with her mother who was a child Holocaust survivor. Working through their relationships with their primary objects and their self perception, as revealed by these creative activities in analysis, facilitated the patients' mourning.

Conversations With A Blank Canvas written by Isa Levy and has been published by this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2020-06-13 with categories.

As an author, therapist and artist, Isa L Levy, shares an honest, detailed and thought provoking self-assessment of her life journey. The book is reflective in so many ways which invite the reader to engage more consciously with their own personal journey. Using clear and apt word painting, the words are poetic in that they evoke a reaction of all our senses. The book includes vibrant colour images of Isa's paintings as she comes into her own light, transforming the grey inner world of entrapment into colour. We hear the music Isa has created, we feel the gentle opening up within the lover's garden, and we can even taste the mother's force feeding! This is a remarkable achievement which leads us to a deeper level of engagement with the text..., says a previewer of the book, Frances Sutherland.Isa wants to reveal how in identifying with the inner world of our critical, harsh and judgemental voices, our soul "dies but not quite". She unravels in this creative memoir the evolution of the lost soul, restored back to life. She takes us through her many evolutions of change and transformation: from actor, to artist then onto arts psychotherapist, while facing her own negative demons and feelings of unworthiness. In doing so she retrieves her "lost soul" and polishes the jewel in her crown, which lay hidden in the unplumbed depths of low self-confidence and poor self-esteem, submerged beneath a world of depression and anxiety.

The journey from strategy to operating success depends on creating an organization that can deliver the chosen strategy. This book, explaining the Operating Model Canvas, shows you how to do this. It teaches you how to define the main work processes, choose an organization structure, develop a high-level blueprint of the IT systems, decide where to locate and how to lay out floor plans, set up relationships with suppliers and design a management system and scorecard with which to run the new organization. The Operating Model Canvas helps you to create a target operating model aligned to your strategy. The book contains more than 20 examples ranging from large multi-nationals to government departments to small charities and from an operating model for a business to an operating model for a department of five people. The book describes more than 15 tools, including new tools such as the value chain map, the organization model and the high-level IT blueprint. Most importantly, the book contains two fully worked examples showing how the tools can be used to develop a new operating model. This book should be on the desk of every consultant, every strategist, every leader of transformation, every functional business partner, every business or enterprise architect, every Lean expert or business improvement champion, in fact everyone who wants to help their organization be successful. Conserving Canvas written by Cynthia Schwarz and has been published by Getty Publications this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2023-10-24 with Art categories.

The most authoritative publication in nearly fifty years on the subject of conserving paintings on canvas. In 2019, Yale University, with the support of the Getty Foundation, held an international conference, where nearly four hundred attendees from more than twenty countries gathered to discuss a vital topic: how best to conserve paintings on canvas. It was the first major symposium on the subject since 1974, when wax-resin and glue-paste lining reigned as the predominant conservation techniques. Over the past fifty years, such methods, which were often destructive to artworks, have become less widely used in favor of more minimalist approaches to intervention. More recent decades have witnessed the reevaluation of traditional practices as well as focused research supporting significant new methodologies, procedures, and synthetic materials for the care and conservation of paintings on fabric supports. Conserving Canvas compiles the proceedings of the conference, presenting a wide array of papers and posters that provide important global perspectives on the history, current state, and future needs of the field. Featuring an expansive glossary of terms that will be an invaluable resource for conservators, this publication promises to become a standard reference for the international conservation community. The free online edition of this open-access publication is available at getty.edu/publications/conserving-canvas. Also available are free PDF and EPUB downloads of the book.

Canvases And Careers written by Harrison C. White and has been published by University of Chicago Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 1993-03 with Art categories.

In the nineteenth century, the Académie des Beaux Arts, and institution of central importance to the artistic life of France for over two hundred years, yielded much of its power to the present system of art distribution, which is dependent upon critics, dealers, and small exhibitions. In Canvases and Careers, Harrison and Cynthia White examine in scrupulous and fascinating detail how and why this shift occurred. Assimilating a wide range of historical and sociological data, the authors argue convincingly that the Academy, by neglecting to address the social and economic conditions of its time, undermined its own ability to maintain authority and control. Originally published in 1965, this ground-breaking work is a classic piece of empirical research in the sociology of art. In this edition, Harrison C. White's new Foreword compares the marketing approaches of two contemporary painters, while Cynthia A. White's new Afterword reviews recent scholarship in the field.
