The use of ALL CAPS in written text signifies shouting, strong emotion, and emphasis on the capitalized words. When applying the same concept to capitalism, ALL CAPS takes on a symbolic meaning - the ability to capitalize and emphasize one's own economic potential. Just as capital letters stress important ideas, capitalism provides frameworks for individuals to leverage their skills, ambitions, work ethic and talent to "shout from the rooftops" in pursuit of profit and self-advancement. ALL CAPS means enabling people to pump up the volume on their human capital - raising their value and amplifying their worth in markets for labor, goods and services. When people CAPITAlize under capitalism, economic systems allow them to highlight, underscore and accentuate their means to prosper. So while internet slang uses all caps for volume, in capitalism the term underscores methods for people to crank the dial up on capitalizing success. In today's interconnected world, we have more opportunities than ever to capitalize on our skills and talents to build personal success and wealth. CAPITALIZING means seizing those opportunities to maximize our potential—raising ourselves up by bringing out the best of our individual abilities. That drive to elevate ourselves is at the very core of capitalism as an economic system. This book, "ALL CAPS", examines how ALL of us can CAPITALIZE on this capitalist system to our benefit. When written, all capital letters are used to place EMPHASIS, to highlight IMPORTANT words that drive HOME a point. We will apply that same emphasis on the power of capitalizing through a capitalist society to achieve higher status, influence, and mobility. Capitalism provides economic MODELS for individuals to CAPITALIZE through marshalling talent, work ethic, intelligence, and ambition to profit.

Capitalizing On Knowledge written by David Skyrme and has been published by Routledge this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2012-06-14 with Business & Economics categories.

Many organizations are embracing knowledge management as a source of strategic advantage. But already people are asking: "what comes next?" Likewise almost every large organization is heavily involved in e-commerce and turning their organizations into e-businesses. At the moment most e-commerce is focused on selling traditional products and services through the new medium of the Internet. However, the more an organization evolves into an e-business, the more they can exploit knowledge flows between themselves and their marketplace. This book draws together the two strands of knowledge and e-business into the emerging field that this book has called k-business. A k-business is one that turns an organization's knowledge assets into knowledge products and services and uses the Internet to market and deliver them online. Despite its newness, the Delphi Group have forecast that within 5 years person-to-person information e-commerce (a major aspect of k-business) will be a $5 billion business leveraging $50 billion in sales of other products and services. Capitalizing on Knowledge aims to give professionals and managers early insights into how to develop successful k-businesses. It takes a critical and balanced view of the building blocks of a k-business including knowledge productizing, e-commerce enablers and Internet marketing. It draws on lessons from successes and failures in the dot.com landscape and of the early pioneers of knowledge markets. The writing style engenders interest and readability supported by diagrams, screen images, check lists and frameworks. There are 'points to ponder' to stimulate thinking and decision-making. Five case studies and over 50 illustrative examples provide insights into the application of the book's concepts. No other book brings all the elements of a k-business together in one place to provide a thought provoking yet practical companion for those who want to capitalize on their knowledge.

Creating Transparent AI From agriculture to transportation, entertainment to medicine, and banking to social media, artificial intelligence (AI) is changing how humans do practically everything. We experience AI in our daily lives through our fitness trackers, home digital assistant systems, and curated news services, to name a few examples. For talent development, this is no different. The fields of artificial intelligence and talent development have been on a collision course for decades, and their convergence has already occurred. It has just taken many in our profession some time to recognize this fact. On the horizon, AI-powered innovations are transforming the workplace and the role of the talent development professional, affecting recruiting to training to compensation. As such, there are actions TD professionals should take now to prepare ourselves and our organizations for the evolving AI revolution. In AI in Talent Development, Margie Meacham describes the benefits, uses, and risks of AI technology and offers practical tools to strengthen and enhance learning and performance programs. In layman’s terms, Meacham demonstrates how we can free time for ourselves by employing a useful robot “assistant,” create a chatbot for specific tasks (such as a new manager bot, a sales coach bot, or new employee onboarding bot), and build personalized coaching tools from AI-processed big data. She concludes each of the six chapters with helpful tips and includes a resource guide with planning tools, templates, and worksheets. Meacham dispels fear of AI’s black box—the term used to describe its unknowability and opacity—and points out ways AI can help us be better at creativity and critical thinking, what we humans do best.
