This book offers the first original study on banking crises management in Italy from 2014 to 2020 with a comprehensive overview of the resolution tools used. In Italy, the issue of banking crises is now the focus of attention, not only as a result of the cycle of crises that occurred in the years 2014-2020 but also because of the banking reform carried out in Europe with the directives on bank recovery and resolution and the implementation of the Single Resolution Mechanism and the Single Resolution Fund within the framework of the Banking Union. The Italian banking crises have been managed by applying the new European regulatory framework; in this sense they constitute a significant test to assess its effectiveness and coherence. This book, divided into two parts, makes an initial assessment of the crisis situations and the application of the new rules, and offers an initial evaluation of their functioning. In the first part, an in-depth examination is made of the various cases of crisis, following a methodology of classification by type of solution and instruments adopted. The second part is dedicated to lessons learned and open issues. In detail, the most sensitive issues of the current debate are addressed, relating to the improvement of the institutional set-up and the rules for crisis management, the harmonization of insolvency rules in Europe, the funding of resolution, public intervention and, finally, the role of deposit guarantee systems. An articulated and complex picture emerges with various areas for improvement and policy indications, offering a framework that will be of interest to scholars, researchers, professors, students and practitioners of banking and banking regulation.

l termine charisma conserva sempre un rapporto con il suo senso etimologico cosa data per generosita. Nel N.T. charisma e usato esclusivamente per i doni divini. Alcuni testi adoperano il termine in senso molto generale (Rm 5,15; 6,23; 11,29), altri in contesto molto limitato (2Cor 1,11; 1Cor 12,9.28.30); altri pero tendono verso un senso tecnico (Rm 12,6; 1Cor 12,4.31; 1Tm 4,14; 2Tm 1,6; 1Pt 4,10). Il tratto principale di questo senso tecnico e la diversita dei carismi: sono doni speciali, nel senso che non fanno parte delle grazie necessarie ad ogni cristiano; non tutti hanno tale o tale carisma. Un altro tratto, correlativo, e la distinzione tra carismi e virtu, in particolare tra carismi e carita. In un modo o l'altro, i testi esprimono una relazione stretta tra charisma e charis; i carismi sono dell'ordine della grazia; i talenti naturali non sono carismi, ne le situazioni umane ordinarie (razza, condizione sociale, professione ecc.). L'origine divina dei carismi viene espressa in diversi modi: piu spesso (1Cor 12,28; Rm 12,6; 2Tm 1,6; 1Pt 4,10) chi e nominato e Dio; la relazione con lo Spirito Santo, molto sottolineata in 1Cor 12,4.7-11, non e espressa in altri testi; talvolta il donatore e Cristo, in testi pero che non usano charisma (Ef 4,7.11; Mc 16,20); At 2,33 ha un'espressione trinitaria. Tutti i testi considerati manifestano l'autorita apostolica riguardo all'uso dei carismi. Tutti infatti danno istruzioni in proposito. Paolo non esita a formulare esigenze molto precise e rigorose (1Cor 14,26-40). Allo stesso tempo tutti i testi manifestano una valutazione positiva dei carismi. La Chiesa non vi appare come una grande macchina amministrativa, ma come un organismo vivente, corpo di Cristo (1Cor 12,27; Ef 4,12), animato dallo Spirito Santo. Per assolvere correttamente qualsiasi responsabilita nella Chiesa, non basta l'abilita umana, il senso dell'organizzazione, della decisione, ma ci vuole la docilita personale allo Spirito Santo. Questa docilita porta con se un atteggiamento positivo riguardo alle diverse manifestazioni dello Spirito. La gerarchia della Chiesa non puo pretendere di avere il monopolio dei doni dello Spirito, ma deve riconoscere con gioia che tutti i fedeli ricevono doni di grazia, la cui diversita e un gran bene per la vita della Chiesa, anche se talvolta suscitano problemi.
