“Le forme del sacro. La performance del rito romano” è lo sviluppo ulteriore della tesi di laurea che l’autore ha discusso nel 2011 presso l’Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore di Brescia. Il testo è una ricerca antropologica che vuole analizzare la ritualità cattolica, comparando la celebrazione della messa secondo le due forme del rito romano: straordinaria (detta di S. Pio V, precedente al concilio Vaticano II) e ordinaria (detta di Paolo VI, scaturita dalla riforma liturgica del concilio Vaticano II). L’indagine si muove secondo i presupposti dell’antropologia della performance, quindi, seguendo lo schema di una “critica teatrale”, prende in esame gli aspetti esteriori e percepibili della liturgia. Si intende così far emergere la realtà oggettiva delle due forme del rito romano, al di là delle ideologie (tradizionaliste - progressiste). Il testo è fedele al pensiero di Joseph Ratzinger il quale non risparmiando i giudizi sulla liturgia rinnovata in seguito al Concilio Vaticano II, al contempo ragiona secondo un'ermeneutica della continuità con il passato proponendo una "riforma della riforma" per arginare la crisi liturgica contemporanea.
