Jamás en la vida se vieron en persona el poeta andaluz Vicente Aleixandre (1898-1984) y el poeta gallego Eduardo Moreiras (1914-1991); sin embargo, sus vidas estuvieron intensa y profundamente unidas, a lo largo de los años 1958 a 1955, por medio de una correspondencia continua, de la que por fortuna conservamos algo más de ciento quince cartas, todas ellas escritas por Vicente Aleixandre, y por desgracia ninguna de las enviadas por Eduardo Moreiras. Su recuperación y su edición, ponen ahora en manos del público lector una bellísima historia de una apasionante amistad entre dos grandes de las literaturas hispanas. Aurora López (Sarria, Lugo, 1948) es catedrática de Filología Latina de la Universidad de Granada. Investiga sobre todo en el campo de la literatura latina, principalmente el teatro y su pervivencia actual; es especialista en estudios sobre la mujer romana, y también sobre Rosalía de Castro. Andrés Pociña (Lugo, 1947) es catedrático de Filología Latina en la Universidad de Granada. Investiga en especial en el campo da literatura latina, del teatro clásico antiguo y su pervivencia en los teatros actuales, al igual que en el de la literatura gallega, especialmente sobre Rosalía de Castro.
