Cass Pennant is a man who lets his fist do the talking. One of the hardest men in Britain, he lives his life on the edge of the law, giving respect where it is due, and dishing out retribution upon anyone who dares to cross him. Cass's life story reads like a Hollywood gangster movie. He tells the amazing stories of how he once saved the life of World Boxing Champion Frank Bruno; how he was shot 3 times in the chest in a South London nightclub; and how he was alleged to have been the leader of the notorious West Ham 'InterCity Firm'. His remarkable life story has been made into a film released in May 2008.

This socio-political analysis of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS) sheds new light on the link between China’s educational reforms and the ideological control exerted by the Party-state. It explores the dynamics of the ways in which the academic community has carved out and utilised the spaces between the academic and Party leadership and the free will of the individual. By differentiating between various forms of power, the author shows how knowledge produced at CASS is influenced not only as a direct result of top-down decisions-making but also unintentionally through organizational networks that interlock both leaders and led in the institutions they helped shape. Administrative tools and symbolic representation in official ceremony are shown to be indispensable for an adequate understanding of the generation of knowledge at CASS. Although still in the early stages of her career, Kiera Cass has enjoyed the kind of success most writers only dream of. After publishing her first novel, The Siren, in 2009, she went on to write The Selection, a dystopian young adult novel set in a future version of the United States in which girls are selected by lottery to compete for the position of Princess. Although she had had no luck at all in finding either an agent or a traditional publisher for The Siren, The Selection landed her, in short order, an agent and a three-book deal with a top publisher. Cass fans and newcomers alike will enjoy reading this biography of an exuberant but down-to-earth young author.

Kyle Kirby has planned a cruel and unusual revenge on Cass McBride, the most popular girl in school, for the death of his brother David. He digs a hole. Kidnaps Cass. Puts her in a box--underground. He buries her alive. But lying in the deepest dark, Cass finds a weapon: she uses the power of words to keep her nemesis talking--and herself breathing--during the most harrowing 48 hours of her life.

Detroit S Cass Corridor written by Armando Delicato and has been published by Arcadia Publishing this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2012 with History categories.

Welcome to the Cass Corridor, an area geographically bound by freeways and major thoroughfares, yet boundless in its rich history and influence. Since the French established the sleepy ribbon farms in the 1700s, the Cass Corridor has experienced a fascinating evolution. Home to affluent gentry in the Victorian era, the area became the hub for automotive parts suppliers, film distribution, and pharmaceuticals at the turn of the 20th century. The interwar period saw the area transition to a working-class neighborhood that descended into a slum. The Cass Corridor, however, redefined itself, Detroit, and the nation as a home to the counterculture movement of the 1960s and 1970s. The corridor has long been a cradle of creativity that many renowned personalities called home, including Charles Lindbergh, Gilda Radner, Janis Joplin, Joni Mitchell, Marcus Belgrave, and others.
