Daniel Berrigan (+2016+) is most notorious for dramatic anti-war actions at a Catonsville draft board and a Pennsylvania nuclear weapons plant in the ‘60s and ‘80s. Indeed, with friends, he was practically devising what’s been called “liturgical direct action.” Berrigan was also teacher, pastor, and friend to author Bill Wylie-Kellermann. Celebrant’s Flame is a well-researched, but personal book, a debt of gratitude—in the end a tome of love to his mentor. Reflecting on aspects of Berrigan’s person and work—from poet, prophet, prisoner, priest, and more, Wylie-Kellermann sketches this warm portrait of a figure whose impact on church and movement only deepens in the present moment. The book includes considerable material by Berrigan himself, some previously unpublished—a wedding homily, a long poem, a controversial speech, plus much in the way of personal letters, poetry, and memoir. Written with Berrigan’s hundredth birthday in mind, these reflections help keep the flame of this beloved celebrant burning for the stunning new movement generation arising among us.

"How to Be a Wedding Celebrant" is a concise and insightful guide for anyone interested in officiating wedding ceremonies. This manual provides a comprehensive overview of what it takes to become a successful wedding celebrant, distinguishing between legally-binding wedding ceremonies and wedding-celebration style ceremonies. In various countries, such as Australia, civil wedding celebrants have the authority to legally marry couples. However, as of February 2023, the UK is still revising its wedding laws to potentially allow civil celebrants to perform legally-binding marriages. Currently, in the UK, only registered practitioners like registrars and religious clerics are permitted to conduct legal marriages. This guide is particularly useful for those interested in officiating wedding celebrations, where the couple is already legally married and looking to celebrate their union in a more personalized and romantic setting. These ceremonies can be held in diverse locations, such as elegant hotels, private gardens, beaches, or woodlands, and often include a larger circle of friends and family, along with faith elements as per the couple's wishes. "How to Be a Wedding Celebrant" addresses the profession's unregulated nature in the UK and other countries, emphasizing the importance of professionalism, preparation, and training for those who wish to pursue a career in celebrancy. The book provides practical advice on setting fees, preparing for ceremonies, and the significance of the initial interview and drafting process. It highlights the celebrant's role in creating a memorable and unique experience for the couple and their guests. Whether you're considering a professional career or simply conducting a ceremony for a loved one, this book equips you with the knowledge and tools needed to perform a beautiful and meaningful wedding celebration.

Lords Of The Left Hand Path written by Stephen E. Flowers and has been published by Simon and Schuster this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2012-06-15 with Body, Mind & Spirit categories.

Examines the left-hand path and reveals the masters of the tradition • Explores the practices and beliefs of many left-hand path groups, including the Cult of Set, the Hell-Fire Club, and heretical Sufi, Zoroastrian, Christian, and Muslim sects • Investigates many infamous occult personalities, including Helena Blavatsky, Aleister Crowley, the Marquis de Sade, and Anton LaVey • Explains the true difference between the right-hand path and the left-hand path--union with and dependence on God versus individual freedom and self-empowerment From black magic and Satanism to Gnostic sects and Gurdjieff’s Fourth Way, the left-hand path has been linked to many practices, cults, and individuals across the ages. Stephen Flowers, Ph.D., examines the methods, teachings, and historical role of the left-hand path, from its origins in Indian tantric philosophy to its underlying influence in current world affairs, and reveals which philosophers, magicians, and occult figures throughout history can truly be called “Lords of the Left-Hand Path.” Flowers explains that while the right-hand path seeks union with and thus dependence on God, the left-hand path seeks a “higher law” based on knowledge and power. It is the way of self-empowerment and true freedom. Beginning with ancient Hindu and Buddhist sects and moving Westward, he examines many alleged left-hand path groups, including the Cult of Set, the Yezidi Devil Worshippers, the Assassins, the Neoplatonists, the Hell-Fire Club, the Bolsheviks, the occult Nazis, and several heretical Sufi, Zoroastrian, Christian, and Muslim sects. Following a carefully crafted definition of a true adherent of the left-hand path based on two main principles--self-deification and challenge to the conventions of “good” and “evil”--the author analyzes many famous and infamous personalities, including H. P. Blavatsky, Faust, the Marquis de Sade, Austin Osman Spare, Aleister Crowley, Gerald Gardner, Anton LaVey, and Michael Aquino, and reveals which occult masters were Lords of the Left-Hand Path. Flowers shows that the left-hand path is not inherently evil but part of our heritage and our deep-seated desire to be free, independent, and in control of our destinies.

The Sacred Herbs Of Samhain written by Ellen Evert Hopman and has been published by Simon and Schuster this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2019-08-06 with Body, Mind & Spirit categories.

A practical guide to using the sacred herbs of Samhain for healing, divination, purification, protection, magic, and as tools for contacting the Spirits • Explores the identification, harvest, and safe practical and ritual use of more than 70 plants and trees sacred to the Celtic festival of Samhain, the origin of Halloween • Details the most effective plants for protection from the mischief of Fairies, herbs for releasing the Dead, and visionary plants for divination and shamanic work • Provides instructions and suggestions for a traditional Dumb Supper, offerings to the Land Spirits, Samhain rites, and recipes for the sacred foods of Samhain The ancient Celts separated the year into two halves, the light half and the dark half, summer and winter. The festival of Samhain, from which the modern holiday of Halloween originates, marks the transition from summer to winter, the end of the Celtic year, a time when the barriers between the physical and spiritual world are at their most transparent. The herbs most characteristic of this time have specific magical and healing properties that echo the darker aspect of the year and offer potent opportunities for divination, contact with ancestors and Land Spirits, and journeys in the Otherworld. Presenting a practical guide to the sacred herbs and trees of Samhain, Ellen Evert Hopman details the identification, harvest, and use of more than 70 plants and trees in healing, divination, purification, magic, and as tools for contacting the Spirits wandering the landscape at this liminal time of year. She explores the most effective plants for protection from the mischief of the “Good Neighbors,” the Sidhe or Fairies, as well as herbs for releasing the Dead when they are trapped on this plane. Identifying visionary plants used to induce ecstatic trance, Hopman explores how herbs have been used for millennia to aid in psychic travel and shamanic work and shows how one might safely use plants to take a voyage to the Otherworld. Drawing on her knowledge as a master herbalist, she also includes cautions to prevent harm and misidentification, along with advice on basic etiquette and common sense approaches to herb magic. Detailing the history, rites, and traditions of Samhain, Hopman explains how to make an offering to the Land Spirits and provides instructions for the traditional Samhain ritual of the Dumb Supper, complete with recipes for the sacred foods of Samhain, such as Soul Cakes, Colcannon, Boxty bread, and dandelion wine. Woven throughout with mystical tales of folk, Fairy, and sacred herbs, this guide offers each of us practical and magical ways to connect with Nature, the plant kingdom, the Spirits that surround us, and the turning of the year.

War opens the path to conquest. With new allies among the Northlanders and an unexpected friendship with their leader DoomDragon, Tohmas Galanth has ended the Northlander War. But as he turns his attention to bringing the traitorous Prince Marfaie to justice, he balances Northlander, Esparan, and Rydan needs. The decades of war between these peoples make trust fragile. Marfaie seeks to drive a wedge between the allies by any means, whether dragons, thieves, wizards, or demons. If the Princes of Espar cannot rise above their history, the alliance will fracture and undo Tohmas' work. While sorting friends from enemies, Tohmas hides his true plans for Espar; conquest in the name of the Rydans. But as his secret comes to light, old friends become new enemies and Tohmas' confidence falters. Who can he trust once the truth is known?
