Celebrate Anglicanism is an extremely accessible introduction to Anglicanism -- and in particular to its North American expression. For any who want to understand the basics of Christian Faith and the way that Faith has come to be handed on by those who would describe themselves as Anglican Christians this book covers all the basics. Celebrate Anglicanism is written by a layman for the laity of the Anglican Church. The book is for those who are curious, who want to learn, who need basic knowledge. It is for ordinary Christians and those who are considering claiming their vocations as laymen and women in the world. The book is an invitation to becoming a disciple, and being informed enough to invite others into following Christ as committed and informed Anglicans. Celebrate Anglicanism is divided into seven chapters. It encourages use by groups -- classes -- where together inquirers can discover the treasure that is the Christian Faith in the Anglican Way. There are lots of questions to connect what is being learned to personal reflection or group discussion. The appendices offer everything from the classic creeds to a Church Constitution to contemporary statements from global gatherings. Celebrate Anglicanism is particularly useful in describing the way in which historic and global Anglicanism has been recovered and renewed in the Anglican Church in North America. Indeed, the book helps one understand how the emergence of the Anglican Church in North America is the fruit of a world-wide Reformation of Anglicanism. Among the stories that are told is how the Global Anglican Future Conference of 2008 called for the formation of the Anglican Church of North America as part of the re-centering of world-wide Anglicanism on the Faith once for all delivered to the saints. The second Global Anglican Future Conference has meet in 2013 where the North American Province took its place as part of the great missionary movement, which is 21st century orthodox Anglicanism. As one whose ministry has been concerned to offer the fullness of Anglicanism as a very reliable way to invite, form, disciple, and deploy committed Christians, I commend Celebrate Anglicanism to those who are looking for a new life in Christ and to those who are charged with preparing souls for such a life in the Anglican Way. The Most Reverend Robert Duncan, D.D.

Anglican Manifesto written by Jack A. Estes and has been published by Wipf and Stock Publishers this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2014-10-31 with Religion categories.

The Anglican Communion must address a central issue: that of the postmodern worldview growing in its midst and the corresponding development of a One World Religion. It is an issue of theological meaning and interpretation, of right doctrine and right practice. It is an issue of Christian identity. The crisis has only just begun. Anglicans are the canary in the coal mine, gasping for air while worldwide Christianity looks on to see how much oxygen is left. The One World Religion is actively coming into being. Many Christian churches are grappling with forces and pressures from within and without to yield, to change, or to embrace this phenomenon, which can be oh-so-appealing. The time has come for all who would call themselves Christians to decide which set of beliefs and practices will be adhered to and taught in the church, and which vision will be offered to the world as the Christian faith. Anglican Manifesto seeks to ignite a reformation of Anglicanism in order to set the stage for a global reunification and revival of Christian churches worldwide.

Conflict And The Practice Of Christian Faith written by Bruce Norman Kaye and has been published by Wipf and Stock Publishers this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2009 with Religion categories.

Anglicans around the world have responded to the gospel in many different cultural contexts. This has produced different customs and different ways of thinking about church issues. In the process of enculturation Anglicans have found themselves encountering social and political realities as malign forces against which they have had to struggle. As a consequence, the personal and local dynamic in Anglicanism has created not just diversity of custom and mental habits, but it has done so at points that have been vital to the way Anglicans have been committed to the gospel. Conflict and the Practice of Christian Faith looks at the process by which local traditions developed in Christianity and how these traditions have related to other sub-traditions of the universal church. It assesses some specifics of the Anglican experience and argues for a significant re-casting of some prominent elements of that tradition, at the same time clarifying some of the distinctive elements in the Anglican tradition. This leads to a more nuanced appreciation of the force of the social and political framework within which Anglicans have had to work out their salvation and of the different forms of secular society and different understandings of plurality and diversity. It also entails showing how the imperial route to catholicity took no firm root in Anglicanism. Going global has been a significant experiment in Anglican ecclesiology that is by no means over yet. The terms of that experiment lie at the heart of the current Anglican debates. The book will be of interest to Christians generally who belong to faith traditions spread across different cultures. It is also a case study of the issues of global reach and local tradition.
