Questo libro è nato in un salotto. Un salotto in bianco e nero. Un uomo minuto con una spessa montatura se ne sta stravaccato con un microfono in mano e registra su nastro quelle che, per lui, sono le cose per cui vale la pena vivere. È abbattuto perché vive un momento complesso dell’esistenza. L’elenco dura qualche minuto, s’interrompe quando l’uomo ha l'intuizione che lo porta a correre verso la fine della storia, accompagnato dalle note di Rapsodia in blu. Inutile dire che quell’uomo è Woody Allen e che quel film si intitola Manhattan. Da quello splendido monologo nasce la nostra raccolta: Cento registi per cui vale la pena vivere. Già, perché si possono snocciolare un sacco di ovvietà su quanto l’esistenza umana sia complicata, piena di ostacoli, timori, momenti terribili, eccetera; il fatto è che il cinema, la letteratura, la musica e lo sport sono probabilmente le più grandi invenzioni create qui sulla Terra per farci svagare, pensare (qualche volta sognare) ma soprattutto per distrarci da tutte le difficoltà che incontriamo nella vita di tutti i giorni. Un dizionario “minimo” ad uso (e magari abuso) delle giovani generazioni, una piccola guida per chi vuole avvicinarsi alla magia della Settima arte. Lucio Laugelli (1987), si è laureato al Dams di Bologna e specializzato alla Iulm di Milano. Videomaker, è ideatore e fondatore della rivista on-line Paper Street. Ha diretto cortometraggi e videoclip. I suoi lavori sono stati pubblicati su Panorama Tv, Wired, Rolling stone e Il Fatto Quotidiano. Giacomo Lamborizio (1987) giornalista pubblicista, è laureato in Comunicazione e Editoria alla Statale di Milano. Nel 2007 è tra i fondatori della rivista on-line d'informazione culturale Paper Street, di cui attualmente è Vice direttore esecutivo e responsabile della sezione cinema. Attualmente lavora come coordinatore di produzione per la Blue Film di Roma, collabora con LongTake.it e Fabrique du Cinéma. Ha lavorato per Editrice Il Castoro e come critico cinematografico per AlessandriaNews.
