Research Paper (undergraduate) from the year 2024 in the subject Didactics - Physics, grade: A(0.4), , course: Philosophy of Education, language: English, abstract: This research entails an in-depth exploration of the challenges encountered by students when conducting physics experiments. Employing a descriptive survey approach, the study involved 270 students and 7 teachers in the Namoo District. From this pool, a sample of 120 students and 4 teachers was randomly selected for analysis. Numerous challenges were identified during the research, including difficulties in identifying physics apparatus, mounting equipment, recording accurate readings, and making careful observations during experiments. Additionally, issues such as insufficient laboratory apparatus, the absence of a standard physics laboratory, and inadequate supervision were prominent. Based on the findings, recommendations have been proposed to address these challenges. These include ensuring the provision of adequate laboratory equipment and establishing standard physics laboratory facilities. By implementing these recommendations, it is hoped that the practical learning experience for students in senior high schools can be improved in the Namoo District.

Essay from the year 2018 in the subject Pedagogy - School System, Educational and School Politics, language: English, abstract: The focus of this essay is to provide a comprehensive assessment of the double track and semester programs at the SHS level under the following themes: Constitutional matters, population matters, resource matters and a conclusion. As a teacher and a member of the educational sector, the matter I have tabled above is a matter that is so much dear to my heart. I know for a fact, that every passing government educational intervention is meant to better the educational system in Ghana. From the colonial regime, passing through the era of Nkrumah to the current government of the fourth republic, our dear country has undergone a myriad of educational interventions. However, the introduction of the Free Education at the SHS level, otherwise known as the "Fee Free SHS" and the birth of the Semester and the Double Track System in the SHS seem paramount.

Essay from the year 2016 in the subject Business economics - Business Management, Corporate Governance, Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (Department of Land Economy), course: Bsc. Land Economy, language: English, abstract: Facility management which ideally forms part of management in practice is sidelined in the financial planning and capital budgeting of most public institutions in Ghana. The indications are shown in the derelict cascades of most public institutions. The Study made an empirical investigation into the causes and effects of poor property management on government institutions with a focus on Bawku Senior High School and Bawku Technical Institute in the Upper East Region of Ghana. Relevant Related Literature was reviewed from the works of other researchers to set the framework and boundary for this research piece. The research design that was adopted for this study mainly descriptive because of the nature of the data which was basically qualitative and the survey instruments that were used in the data collection were basically interviews and the researcher's personal observation. The study identified that deferred maintenance and poor maintenance culture are the most severe causes of poor facility management which are a result of use of inappropriate materials Poor designs of buildings, total indiscipline in the use of the facilities and budgetary restrictions. It was identified that the two institutions had no qualified facility managers but relied on maintenance teams selected from among teaching and non-teaching staff; that had no property knowledge. The study also revealed that the two institutions had no funds meant for maintenance and thus relied on funds from the central government in which the procurement process is practically bedeviled with bureaucracy. The study also revealed that the effects of poor facility management hunt the institutions in the forms of financial erosion, poor property outlook, threatens the safet

Thesis (M.A.) from the year 2010 in the subject Chemistry - Physical and Theoretical Chemistry, grade: 1, Annamalai University, course: M.Phil/Ph.D, language: English, abstract: Effect of Electron Beam Irradiation on Electrical Conductivity of PVC (Poly Vinyl Chloride) was carried out. characteristics of PVC changes according to the dosage of electron beam irradiation. That is amorphous nature of PVC changes to crystalline and also conjugate double bond and free radicals are formed due to the degradation. The free radicals formed due to scission process in responsible at higher energy radiation. The electrical conductivity of polyvinyl chloride after irradiation slightly increases with electron beam radiation dose. It is due to increase in crystallinity in the polyvinyl chloride after electron beam irradiation and production of free radicals due to scission or crosslinking in PVC.

Bachelor Thesis from the year 2007 in the subject Didactics - History, grade: A, University of Cape Coast (DEPARTMENT OF ARTS AND SOCIAL SCIENCES EDUCATION (DASSE)), course: Project for History, language: English, abstract: Knowledge of one’s heritage is one of the most cherished ideals in a society. This creates the awareness of how the people lived in the past - the way they dressed, the way they danced, the food they ate, their economic resources and how they passed on the above cultural values to their future generations. In many African indigenous settings, for instance, the cultural heritage such as festivals, religion, languages spoken and even the type of education they practiced all have their meanings and have evolved from the past. It is therefore obvious that to understand the present, we must definitely know the past. It is only based on the knowledge of the past that we can predict the future and live fruitful lives based on the past circumstances. The primary aim of History teaching in Africa is to put the African child into the stream of History from which he has been absent for so long. People do not accord it the necessary attention it deserves. This is fundamentally due to the little importance attached to it. Consequently, students are not aware of their past and yet they seemed not to be perturbed. A questionnaire was administered to 180 respondents were randomly sampled from three High Schools in Cape Coast Municipality of Ghana. SPSS was used to conduct descriptive statistics on the data collected from the respondents. The results show that students offer history because of their interest in the subject. Their offering history has nothing to do with advice from parents, friends and its easiness as a subject of study. Unfortunately, the resources available in the three High schools are awfully inadequate. The predominant teaching method is a combination of lecture method, dictation of notes and the use of visual aids and the discussion method. However, another equally important methods such as excursion were not being employed in the teaching of history. This may be due to financial constraints and lack of cooperation from the schools' administration. It is therefore recommended that history as a subject should be made compulsory for at least a year in the High Schools. The government must also resource teachers to deliver the subjects using all the necessary teaching methods. Teachers of the subjects should also improvise in the face of lack of resources in teaching the subject.

Assessing Teacher Effectiveness written by Jim Campbell and has been published by Routledge this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2012-10-12 with Education categories.

How can we really evaluate teacher effectiveness? Systems of teacher appraisal and evaluation are being created across the world in order to monitor and assess teacher performance. But do the models used really give a fair evaluation? Based on international research, the authors argue that teacher effectiveness is too narrowly conceptualised and methods of measuring it are not attuned to the real contexts in which teachers work. They propose a model of differential teacher effectiveness which takes into account that: * teachers may be more effective with some categories of students than with others * teachers may be more effective with some teaching contexts than others * teachers may be more effective with some subjects or components than with others. Building on and developing previous research on models of teacher effectiveness and current theories, the authors open up possible new debates which will be of interest to academics and researchers working in this area throughout the world.
