Wanting a Religion that Caters Some people don't care about Christianity at all unless it can make them drunk or high “in the spirit.” They use and abuse God and Christianity just like they would any other substance in their life. They search for the experiences, but not God. Some people don't care about Christianity unless they get to see a sign or a wonder. They demand a miracle from God. But Jesus said, “A wicked and adulterous generations seeks a sign but none will be given to it.” Some people don't like normal prayer and actual intense Bible study. They avoid studying the Bible at all costs. They never want to read or look at versus or chapters they don't like. They read and memorize some parts of the Bible and throw out the rest. Some people are only “believers” because they want God to give them things, a thrill, money, gifts etc. but they never think twice about what THEY can GIVE to God! They are Christian parasites, always wanting more, rather than Christian servants who are always willing to give. Some people only go to church for the social life. They like having all the friends in church or the praises of men by doing certain things, but they don't go there to actually worship God. They go there so others can worship THEM instead. Some people only practice religion to be seen by men. Some people only want to be seen as a great religious person and they put on the act of being “religious” but their heart is black and they are actually very far from God. Some people only read a few verses in the Bible and then think that they understand the whole Bible. Some people only read a few verses about God or Jesus and think they know God and Jesus, when they really have no idea who God really is. Some people have so much pride from things they've seen or things they've done and their pride keeps them from actually seeing God. May God help us all to be the humble servants that he requires us to be. May God help us to see Him clearly and to forget about ourselves. In Jesus' name amen! I compiled this book from various blogs I have written over the last few months on the Charismatic movement. I hope God can use it to really help some people see things differently about Charismania, as I like to call it. May God give us all eyes to see and ears to hear him more clearly and may he soften our hearts to receive the truth. In Jesus' name Amen. :)The chapter titles of the book are:1. What is Faith? 2. Charisma And Social Structure written by Raymond Trevor Bradley and has been published by iUniverse this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 1998 with Social Science categories.

The author states in his preface, "Despite charisma’s growing importance, social science has made little progress in unraveling the enigma of charisma beyond that achieved by Max Weber over half a century ago. The results of the research reported in this book offer what I believe is a new and fruitful understanding of charisma." As Karl H. Pribram says in his Foreword,”Bradley comes off as a superb scientist.” Convinced that the common idea that charisma is mainly the leadership quality of an exceptional individual, Bradley believes that charisma occurs because of the nature and dynamics of certain groups. Much of his research is based on the study of communes in the 1970’s. The results of the research reported in this landmark book offer important insights into our understanding of charisma. The relational forms that provide charisma with its power for radical social transformation within a group, a hierarchy of communion and a hierarchy of power, are what account for the stability of charismatic groups. Evidence suggests a similar interrelationship holds for noncharismatic systems. This book is for sociologists and psychologists and also for researchers, political opinion makers, advertisers, managers and anyone interested in the invisible workings of human power, love and communication.

In 1906, a new religious phenomenon emerged from California. Then, just over sixty years later, a million-fold expansion occurred. What was the catalyst for this explosion of growth? The Pentecostal Paradox explores the history and rise of a new religious movement called the Pentecostals. Drawing on eyewitness accounts, newspaper articles of the day, and other long-forgotten sources, author G. J. Hocking weaves together an accurate history of the movement to the present day. Filled with fascinating stories—the mailing lists of over 50,000 subscribers go missing; a preacher hijacked the pulpit causing untold havoc; a report of flames shooting fifty feet in the air—The Pentecostal Paradox asks: Were these events fact, fiction, or real phenomena? In this timely work, California the Charismatic Cradle features prominently as the author juxtaposes the rise of Pentecostalism with both the California gold rush and the San Francisco earthquake. Eventually, a “God Rush” occurred in 1906 as many rushed to Azusa Street, Los Angeles. How will this book shed light on this vast group? What next for Pentecostalism? These questions are answered in a candid and yet concise way in this much-needed analysis of the Pentecostal movement.
