Enterprise IT infrastructure is getting increasingly complex. With the increase in complexity has arisen the need to manage it. Die hier vorgestellte Weltchronik wurde um 1300 im bairisch-österreichischen Donauraum, möglicherweise in Passau hergestellt. Der merkwürdig altertümlich wirkende Stil der 159 in den Text eingestreuten Miniaturen in Gold und leuchtenden, kräftigen Deckfarben bleibt dem Zackenstil noch sehr verpflichtet. Vor allem die abstrakt geometrische Behandlung der Gewänder, die in gewinkelt brechende, straffe Falten gelegt sind, und die eckig ausfahrenden Bewegungen der Figuren rufen den Eindruck momentaner Erstarrung hervor. Häufige Überschreitung der Rahmen, expressive Gestik der übergroßen Hände, Kopfdrehungen und Blickwendungen verleihen den Figuren dennoch eine starke Dynamik. Die Miniaturen gehen wohl auf eine südwestdeutsche Vorlage zurück, deren Verhältnis zu Urhandschrift des Rudolf von Ems ungeklärt ist. Der Codex ist zusätzlich geschmückt mit einer Fülle von roten und blauen Fleuronnée-Initialen am Anfang der Textabschnitte sowie - zu Beginn der einzelnen Bücher - mit acht Rankeninitialen mit Drachen in Gold und Deckfarben. Im 17. Jahrhundert gehörte der Kodex dem Münchner Patrizier Ferdinand Barth von Harmating.
