Cloudline is a unique building designed by architect Toshiko Mori in collaboration with gallerists Sean and Mary Kelly and situated on the slopes of the Hudson River in Upstate New York. One is immediately greeted by art as soon as one enters the structure: Joseph Beuys, Jannis Kounellis, Juan Munoz, and Ian Hamilton Finlay escort you inside the space, which, with its aluminum-framed panoramic windows facing the Hudson Valley and its plain concrete floors, serves as a minimalist canvas for the art within. Cloudline's collection includes works of art by a considerable number of artists, some of which were created specifically for this site. Nearly a dozen of these same artists created new works especially for this book. These works of art will be reproduced as facsimiles, inserted into a numbered, limited edition version of the present publication, and accompanied by an essay by the novelist Colm Tóibín in which he describes the magic of Cloudline.

The last mile is the longest... In the final book in the acclaimed Lithia Trilogy, Kat has new losses to mourn but also new reasons to live. On the brink of new beginnings, she is back together with Roman, their relationship deepening more and more even as she wonders whether she may still harbor feelings for Alex. Yet Kat finds it difficult to focus on such things as college and romance, with terror still haunting the hills of Lithia and threatening the entire town. As several recent earthquakes baffle scientists and put residents on edge, it seems that something more dangerous may be looming in Lithia’s future. Trying to balance a busy life while keeping Lithia safe isn’t easy—and soon Kat realizes that nothing is a higher priority than saving her hometown, along with its abundance of land and animals, from devastation. The only problem is that she can’t find a way to do this without leaving Lithia forever—or risking her own life and the lives of those she loves. And her future with Roman appears as unsteady as the ground under her feet… In a novel that weaves together stories of love, the environment, and Shakespeare, the natural and supernatural worlds collide in this stunning conclusion to the Lithia Trilogy. Don't miss the other two books in the Lithia Trilogy: Out of Breath and The Ghost Runner.

The Digital revolution promises trillions of dollars in created value by 2030. Consultants and researchers are projecting massive and disruptive disruption in entire industrial sectors. As a results, PwC reports in their DigitalIQ report that 73% of executives say that they are investing in internet of things (IoT) and 54% in artificial intelligence. So we are experiencing a deluge of digital investments, programs, and large-scale transformations. Despite this tsunami of activities, many IoT Initiatives stall in the Proof of Concept phase and few are already considered a success. Recently, Siemens revealed that less than a fifth (18%) of surveyed companies analyze more than 60% of production data they collect. In a similar vein, Simon-Kucher & Partners (SKP) reports that 3 out of 4 firms that invested in digitalization in the past 3 years fail in their efforts due to the lack of monetization strategies, the focus on the wrong priorities, the lack of customer intimacy, and the neglect of digital pricing best practices. In fact, only 18% of these firms are true digital heroes. Despite the high level of interest and investments, the reality is that most companies are just getting started. The digital champions are not yet reaping the fruit of their investments. Most companies tend to struggle with the process of designing digital business models, with the development of truly differentiated offers, and with the monetization and pricing of their data-based offers. This book focuses on the topics of data monetization and of the value-based pricing of data-driven offers. The authors introduces a newly-developed practical data monetization roadmap that can be used by digital project teams, incubators, and digital factories to better frame their offers and to apply the principles of value-based pricing. They present options in digital pricing models and practical guidelines on how to deploy them. Readers will learn: The various monetization and value creation models for data-enabled offers The 8 steps of the data monetization framework The best practices in designing differentiated data-enabled offers The value-based pricing of data and options in digital pricing models Business model implications of switching from ownership to consumption model

City Limits presents the work of the best of a new generation of architects, as selected by the jury of the Architectural League's annual Young Architects competition. This year's winners were asked: In what ways do current modes of architectural production address cities as artifacts and cities as visions? The responses are varied and accomplished, from Petra Kempf's hand drawn series of diagrams of urban movement, transportation, and form, to Teddy Cruz's ongoing involvement in the development of the US/Latin American border, through SERVO's series of product lines, Thaddeus Briner's design for a football stadium, Manifold's RANT project, a design for Manhattan's east side, and nARCHITECTS's Hotel Pro Forma. Together these exciting new designers explore the possibilities for urban development in adroit texts and dazzling graphics.
