Sans adopter ces conditions comme regle absolue, je les ai recherchees autant que possible. Le tableau ci-apres (tableau IV) contient mes resultats. (3 L'Insecte parcourt rapidement les fleurs d'une plante u'Oxalis. (4) Id. pour les fleurs de Sedum. (5) Tentatives de visites aux fleurs d'Ipomcea. Le lendemain, les Abeilles penetraient bien reellement dans le fleurs de la meme plante. Il suffit de comparer ce tableau IV au tableau I dans lequel j'ai condense les observations de Bulman, pour voir immediatement que j'ai ete moins heureux...

Deux Bombus 'hypnorum et un Bombus lapidarius seulement, en allant de fleur en fleur, ont offert un instant de courte hesitation devant un des capitules artificiels. L'hesitation du B. lapidarius fut du reste douteuse et n'est citee que par acquit de conscience. A Quatre Bombus hypnorum et un B. lapidarius, dans leurs peregrinations de fleur reelle a fleur reelle, rencontrant une des imitations, ont saute litteralement par-dessus, comme au-dessus d'un obstacle, confirmant ainsi de nouveau ce que j'ai dit quant aux Insectes evitant des fleurs fausses. Experience N 2.--22 aout 1905, de 2 h. 20 b 3 h. 20. Beau temps. Soleil voile par moments Les imitations, au lieu d'etre au voisinage immediat des fleurs naturelles, sont, cette fois, situees a distance. Meme touffe de Scabieuses vraies; les capitules artificiels, en deux petits groupes de trois exemplaires, distants de 1 metre l'un de l'autre, sont isoles a 1 metre en avant des plantes, sur la ligne d'arrivee des Insectes. Une heure d'observation donna les resultats ci-apres: 1 Soit a l'arrivee vers les Scabieuses reelles, soit au depart, les Insectes suivants ont passe a 1, 2 ou 3 decimetres au-dessus ou a cote des inflorescences imitees sans s'en inquieter aucunement: Bombus terrestris 20 fois. Bombus lapidarius.... 4--Bombus hypnorum.... 2--Vanessa urlicae...
