Il rapporto tra terrorismo e sinistra rivoluzionaria è da sempre oggetto di due narrazioni opposte, ma ugualmente stereotipate: da un lato viene descritto come assoluta alterità e dall’altro come un legame assai stretto in cui i confini tra i due termini sono labili. Entrambe queste narrazioni tendono a porre al centro le vittime in una prospettiva sostanzialmente moralistica che guarda con diffidenza alle sfumature e alle contestualizzazioni, quasi costituissero un implicito riconoscimento delle ragioni del nemico che offende la memoria delle vittime. Il libro offre una ricostruzione che cerca di discostarsi da questi “opposti estremismi” e che non teme di addentrarsi nelle ragioni storiche su cui poggia la vicenda della violenza politica degli anni Settanta, nella convinzione che lo sforzo di comprensione e la restituzione della complessità che caratterizza ogni vicenda umana sia doverosa anche per tentare di ritrovare un senso storico in cui collocare quei dolorosi eventi.

During the 1960s and 1970s, Workerism and Autonomia were prominent Marxist currents. However, it is rarely acknowledged that these movements inspired many visual artists such as the members of Archizoom, Gordon Matta-Clark and Gianfranco Baruchello. This book focuses on the aesthetic and cultural discourse developed by three generations of militants (including Mario Tronti, Antonio Negri, Bifo and Silvia Federici), and how it was appropriated by artists, architects, graphic designers and architectural historians such as Manfredo Tafuri. The commitment of Italian universities to education in the field of legality and to research on the subject of mafias is the main focus of this investigation edited by Stefano D’Alfonso and Gaetano Manfredi. For the first time, data is shown about the overall framework of teaching and research activities dedicated to this topic, with twenty-nine scholars from different academic disciplines and several universities who come together to reflect on the current situation and on the commitment of universities in the fight against mafias, highlighting both strengths and weaknesses of the system. The reflections illustrated here bring to light the dynamic nature of the local and cultural context where universities operate as well as the type of interaction that these institutions maintain with the national and local context. At the same time, it seems clear that great expectations are held at various levels in terms of what universities could do, especially with regards to the demand for knowledge about the best ways to fight mafias. This research reveals that Italian universities possess a considerable capital of knowledge which represents a ‘hidden treasure’ to be valued and used with the aim of promoting widespread awareness of their role in the anti-mafia field. This book is the result of cooperation between many university professors and researchers, the Parliamentary anti-mafia Committee, the Conference of Italian University Rectors and former minister of University and Research Gaetano Manfredi, under the supervision and coordination of the interdisciplinary research laboratory on mafias and corruption of the Department of Social Sciences of the University of Naples Federico II. This network of professionals and institutions enabled the construction of a significant database where teaching and research activities carried out by scholars from different universities can be identified, across about one hundred academic disciplines.

Avviato agli studi di giurisprudenza dal padre – Carlo Bersezio, un giudice di tendenze liberali – frequenta fin da adolescente i circoli letterari della capitale sabauda. Esordisce quattordicenne con un primo lavoro teatrale, Le male lingue, che conoscerà successivamente una discreta fortuna sotto il nuovo titolo Una bolla di sapone (Milano 1876). Il suo vero esordio teatrale avviene al Carignano di Torino nella stagione 1852/1853 con i drammi Pietro Micca e Romolo in cui gli ideali patriottici venivano adattati ai canoni classici dell'arte drammatica. Quasi come una sorta di basso continuo la sua opera (per il resto fortemente debitrice a influenze d’oltralpe, da Dumas a Hugo, Balzac, Sue) è percorsa da una vena umoristica e satirica. Assumendo nel 1854 la direzione del Fischietto, uno dei più importanti periodici satirici d’Italia, riscuote un'ampia notorietà. Il capolavoro riconosciuto di Bersezio è la commedia piccolo-borghese Le miserie di Monsù Travet (rappresentata a Torino al Teatro Alfieri il 4 aprile 1863 dalla compagnia di Giovanni Toselli) che ebbe a suo tempo gli elogi di Manzoni, mentre il nome del suo protagonista Travet o Travetti venne accolto nel Dizionario di Petrocchi come sinonimo di «piccolo burocrate», «impiegatuccio» ed era ancora ampiamente usato fino agli anni settanta del XX secolo.
