Esta segunda edición de los «Comentarios a la Ley de Enjuiciamiento Civil», que continúa dentro de la colección de «Grandes Tratados» que la Editorial Thomson Reuters Aranzadi dedica al estudio de las Leyes más importantes de nuestro ordenamiento jurídico, supone un importante paso adelante con respecto a la primera. Si en ésta, por razones de inmediatez, el objetivo primero fue subrayar las novedades –abundantes– que la ley introducía en el proceso civil español y resaltar los numerosos problemas que la aplicación práctica de las mismas podía plantear, en la que ahora ve la luz, que aparece notablemente ampliada, se abordan las soluciones de esos problemas tanto por la doctrina científica como de los tribunales, procurando aunar en su exposición la fundamentación dogmática y la dimensión práctica, importantes ambas en una obra de esta naturaleza. La nueva edición está totalmente actualizada en el plano legislativo y en el jurisprudencial. En especial, con referencia al primero, se han incorporado, y, en su caso, comentado, las modificaciones introducidas en la LECiv –y, cuando ha sido necesario u oportuno, en otras leyes procesales– por la Ley 13/2009, de 13 de noviembre, de reforma de la legislación procesal para la implantación de la nueva oficina judicial, y también las introducidas en la LOPJ por la Ley Orgánica 1/2009, de 3 de noviembre, complementaria de la anterior, por la que se modifica la LOPJ. Como ocurrió en la primera edición, los autores han primado, en la elaboración de esta segunda, el rigor y el afán por ofrecer un estudio reposado que, analizando de nuevo el texto legal a la luz de las aportaciones doctrinales y jurisprudenciales realizadas durante el pasado decenio, y estudiando a fondo las reformas introducidas, permita al profesional del Derecho formarse una idea completa del sentido y alcance de la Ley, de forma que le sirva como instrumento útil a la hora de enfrentarse a los problemas que se le presenten en la aplicación concreta de la misma.
