La presente obra ofrece comentarios a la totalidad del Código Penal, articulo por artículo, manteniendo el formato y sistemática de anteriores ediciones, que merecieron el beneplácito y una amplia aceptación en ámbitos forenses y académicos. Las continuas reformas a las que es sometido el Código Penal, como es lógico, obligan a la continua actualización de la obra con la incorporación de los comentarios de los nuevos preceptos. Pero, además, los Comentarios al Código Penal constituyen una obra abierta sometida a la continua revisión, porque en la misma se va incorporando la sucesiva jurisprudencia penal de la Sala Segunda del Tribunal Supremo y de las Audiencias Provinciales. La presente edición aborda el análisis y comentarios del nuevo artículo 361bis, incorporado al Código Penal por LO 7/2006, por el que se introduce en la normativa penal el delito relativo al dopaje en el deporte; también ha sufrido modificaciones la responsabilidad penal de los menores por medio de la LO 8/2006, que son objeto de atención y estudio. Por último, se aborda la nueva regulación de los delitos relativos a la seguridad vial, reformados por medio de la LO 15/2007. No obstante, la obra ha sido sometida a otras actualizaciones, que incorporan pequeñas modificaciones del texto legal y, además, ha sido revisada en profundidad la totalidad del libro I del Código Penal a la vista de un sólido cuerpo doctrinal y jurisprudencial, ya acuñado, desde la aprobación del Código Penal en 1995.
