L’aphasie est une pathologie neurologique à l’origine de nombreux bouleversements dans la vie du patient mais également dans celle de sa famille. Au cœur du noyau familial, comment l’enfant vit-il l’aphasie de son parent ? Nous avons choisi de nous intéresser aux enfants de 6 à 12 ans car nous pensons qu’ils ont besoin d’explications pour comprendre la situation. C’est pourquoi, nous avons décidé de dresser un état des lieux de l’information donnée par les orthophonistes aux enfants de personnes aphasiques. Nous avons interrogé des orthophonistes par le biais d’un questionnaire pour évaluer l’information donnée. D’après nos résultats, l’enfant n’est pas informé systématiquement ; seule une minorité d’orthophonistes rencontrent les enfants. Face à ce constat, nous avons décidé d’établir une plaquette à l’attention des orthophonistes dans le but de les sensibiliser à l’importance d’informer ces enfants. De plus, dans l’optique d’améliorer la qualité de l’information donnée aux enfants, nous avons élaboré une plaquette d’information leur étant destinée. Celle-ci est à la fois un outil d’information mais aussi un support d’échange autour de l’aphasie entre l’enfant et l’orthophoniste ou entre l’enfant et un autre interlocuteur. Ainsi, en mettant à disposition des orthophonistes un outil d’information adapté à l’enfant, nous espérons que cela les incitera à rencontrer les enfants de personnes aphasiques de manière plus systématique.

L'aphasie fait irruption dans la vie d'une famille et entraîne un bouleversement qui affecte non seulement le patient mais aussi l'ensemble de son entourage. Les jeunes enfants ne sont pas épargnés par les multiples répercussions de l'aphasie. Au même titre que les adultes, ils ont besoin d'être informés pour comprendre les difficultés de leur proche et s'y adapter au mieux. Dans cette optique, un Serious Game a été créé à destination des enfants de 6 à 12 ans ayant un parent ou un grand-parent aphasique. Nous avons souhaité étudier l'intérêt de cet outil dans l'accompagnement des enfants ayant un proche aphasique. 2 petits-enfants ont bénéficié d'un entretien autour du Serious Game. Leur connaissance de l'aphasie ainsi que leur comportement communicationnel relatif à cette pathologie ont été évalués à différents temps de l'étude. Malgré la faiblesse de notre population, des résultats positifs ont été observés. Ce mémoire confirme l'intérêt de la démarche d'information auprès des jeunes enfants. Elle leur permet d'acquérir des connaissances sur l'aphasie et d'adapter la manière dont ils communiquent avec leur proche aphasique. Le Serious Game semble être un outil intéressant pour réaliser cette démarche d'information.
