Plusieurs organismes ont souligné l’accroissement des rôles et des responsabilités des gestionnaires d’établissement d’enseignement, ce qui n’est pas sans conséquence sur les compétences qu’ils doivent acquérir en formation initiale et continue en gestion scolaire (Pont et coll., 2008). En fait, ils sont les acteurs de première ligne pour instaurer et accompagner le changement dans leur établissement et ils sont constamment aux prises avec des changements planifiés ou non. Le changement que nous analysons ici est la COVID-19, un phénomène unique en son genre qui est arrivé de façon brutale et non planifiée. Vu la situation inédite et la rapidité de l’avènement, le système devait continuer à fonctionner (l’avion se construisait en plein vol) et les instructions arrivaient au fur et à mesure, en plus d’être parfois contradictoires, ce qui exigeait des ajustements constants. Comment les gestionnaires d’établissement d’enseignement ont-ils instauré et accompagné ce changement? Quelles compétences ont-ils utilisées? Ce livre analyse le compte rendu des pratiques de gestion de deux cohortes de finissants (2021 et 2022) ayant complété leur diplôme en gestion d’établissement d’enseignement en contexte de pandémie. La plupart d’entre eux occupaient un poste de direction ou de directions adjointes. Cette publication est destinée aux gestionnaires d’établissement d’enseignement en formation initiale et continue, aux Centres de services scolaires, mais aussi à tous les gestionnaires concernés, dans le cadre de leurs fonctions, par le changement.
