La teoria dell’identità di Paul Ricoeur costituisce il presupposto di un pluralismo ermeneutico che passa attraverso conflitti, ma anche fecondi e creativi intrecci di interpretazione. Nell’approfondire la dialettica tra il sé e l’altro viene così riconosciuta l’esigenza di un sapere phronetico- comunicativo che consenta al soggetto sia di ridefinire continuamente se stesso sia di gestire le difficoltà derivanti dall’incontro con l’estraneo, lo straniero. Mettendo in luce i tratti di un originale paradigma di confronto interculturale, i diversi percorsi qui proposti convergono nell’affermare che l’atto interpretativo non corrisponde affatto a una completa visione dall’alto, poiché ciascuna prospettiva, personale o culturale, non può che individuare tracce di verità di lato, in modo situato e localizzato. Ecco per quale ragione è soltanto attraverso un dialogo condotto a giusta distanza, con autentico spirito di saggezza, che si può iniziare davvero a comprendersi e a comprendere ciò che è altro da sé.
