Computer Design Of Unequally Spaced Arrays written by Harvey K. Schuman and has been published by this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 1967 with Antenna arrays categories.

Analytical techniques presented thus far for treatment of unequally spaced antenna arrays have pointed out that desirable radiation characteristics can be achieved using only the interelement spacings as design parameters. The advantage is that the excitation amplitudes required can be either uniform or nearly uniform across the array, thereby allowing use of a simple feed system for excitation of the array elements and minimizing adverse mutual coupling effects. The design methods have found only limited applications, however, since results are not always reliable due to the approximations necessary to simplify the analytical work. Various computational methods have been presented to circumvent this problem, but these in turn suffer disadvantage in that they provide no control over the ultimate positions of the array elements, giving rise to unrealistic spacing configurations and severe realization problems through mutual coupling. In this work a new computational technique is presented for designing unequally spaced arrays. The method is particularly suitable for use with modern high-speed electronic computers, and allows certain practical restrictions or constraints to be included in the design procedure by allowing use of a limited number of different excitation amplitude levels. The result in any given example is an unequally spaced linear array designed for a specified sidelobe level, with a number of amplitude levels appropriate for insuring that prespecified spacing restrictions are met. Thus, the practical difficulties encountered with the results of other computational schemes are largely avoided. Several examples are given, and both theoretical and experimental results are included. (Author).

An Architectural Approach To Instructional Design written by Andrew S. Gibbons and has been published by Routledge this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2013-10-30 with Education categories.

Winner of the 2014 AECT Design & Development Outstanding Book Award An Architectural Approach to Instructional Design is organized around a groundbreaking new way of conceptualizing instructional design practice. Both practical and theoretically sound, this approach is drawn from current international trends in architectural, digital, and industrial design, and focuses on the structural and functional properties of the artifact being designed rather than the processes used to design it. Harmonious with existing systematic design models, the architectural approach expands the scope of design discourse by introducing new depth into the conversation and merging current knowledge with proven systematic techniques. An architectural approach is the natural result of increasing technological complexity and escalating user expectations. As the complexity of design problems increases, specialties evolve their own design languages, theories, processes, tools, literature, organizations, and standards. An Architectural Approach to Instructional Design describes the implications for theory and practice, providing a powerful and commercially relevant introduction for all students of instructional design.

Foundations Of Computer Technology written by Alexander John Anderson and has been published by CRC Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2020-10-25 with Computers categories.

Foundations of Computer Technology is an easily accessible introduction to the architecture of computers and peripherals. This textbook clearly and completely explains modern computer systems through an approach that integrates components, systems, software, and design. It provides a succinct, systematic, and readable guide to computers, providing a springboard for students to pursue more detailed technology subjects. This volume focuses on hardware elements within a computer system and the impact of software on its architecture. It discusses practical aspects of computer organization (structure, behavior, and design) delivering the necessary fundamentals for electrical engineering and computer science students. The book not only lists a wide range of terms, but also explains the basic operations of components within a system, aided by many detailed illustrations. Material on modern technologies is combined with a historical perspective, delivering a range of articles on hardware, architecture and software, programming methodologies, and the nature of operating systems. It also includes a unified treatment on the entire computing spectrum, ranging from microcomputers to supercomputers. Each section features learning objectives and chapter outlines. Small glossary entries define technical terms and each chapter ends with an alphabetical list of key terms for reference and review. Review questions also appear at the end of each chapter and project questions inspire readers to research beyond the text. Short, annotated bibliographies direct students to additional useful reading.

Management Of Design written by Sriram Dasu and has been published by Springer Science & Business Media this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2012-12-06 with Business & Economics categories.

Product design significantly influences product cost and quality, as well as market share and profitability of a firm. Design projects often involve many people belonging to different functional areas and in many organizations several design projects may be under way at the same time. Due to this complexity, management of design has given rise to a rich set of research problems in management and engineering. In this volume, design is considered as the planning and specification activity prior to fabrication. Design determines what products will be produced, how they will be produced, and when they will be introduced into the market. The quality of the products and the speed with which they are developed are significantly affected by the design process. The design process by which a product is developed is determined by the managerial and engineering practices, tools and techniques. This book presents engineering and management perspectives on design. Topics covered include: Decomposition of product development projects; Tools and techniques for preliminary evaluation of designs; Interface between design and manufacturing, assembly and distribution; Design information flows, and Determination of the scope, timing and duration of projects, and the allocation of resources.
