In the current scenario of globalisation, environmental pollution, climate change and the consequently perceived energy transition, this paper attempts to establish the case for Gandhian perspective as a solution to the present challenges faced by the world in the context of sustainability. With the awakening of Climate Change as the biggest challenge of mankind which generates the dilemma or trade off between growth and environmental sustainability, this paper finds its explanation in the notion sustainably as prescribed by Gandhian Economics. While tackling the environmental concerns, the developing countries need a policy framework which supports the structural transformation of their energy system towards renewable energy sources. Given the bottlenecks of lack of capital. Innovative capacity , other multitude problems like unemployment, poverty etc. prevailing in all developing countries like India, energy transition towards renewables become a challenge. This is another concern of developing economies which again finds its unfolding in the principles prescribed by Gandhian notion of self-reliant and self sufficient decentralised communities. As a result the paper successfully establishes the foundation of Gandhian thought , Gandhian Economics and Gandhian perspective as a key instrument to visualize the process of energy transition in growing economies like India.

Despite being central to the project of postcolonialism, the concept of resistance has received only limited theoretical examination. Writers such as Frantz Fanon, Edward Said, and Homi K. Bhabha have explored instances of revolt, opposition, or subversion, but there has been insufficient critical analysis of the concept of resistance, particularly as it relates to liberation or social and cultural transformation. In Postcolonial Resistance, David Jefferess looks to redress this critical imbalance. Jefferess argues that interpreting resistance, as these critics have done, as either acts of opposition or practices of subversion is insufficient. He discerns in the existing critical literature an alternate paradigm for postcolonial politics, and through close analyses of the work of Mohandas Gandhi and the South African reconciliation project, Postcolonial Resistance seeks to redefine resistance to reconnect an analysis of colonial discourse to material structures of colonial exploitation and inequality. Engaging works of postcolonial fiction, literary criticism, historiography, and cultural theory, Jefferess conceives of resistance and reconciliation as dependent upon the transformation of both the colonial subject and the antagonistic nature of colonial power. In doing so, he reframes postcolonial conceptions of resistance, violence, and liberation, thus inviting future scholarship in the field to reconsider past conceptualizations of political power and opposition to that power.

While many think of nonviolence as passive or individualist, Butler argues nonviolence is an ethical position found in the midst of the political field. She champions an ‘aggressive’ nonviolence, which accepts hostility as part of our psychic constitution—but values ambivalence as a way of checking the conversion of aggression into violence. Some challengers say a politics of nonviolence is subjective: What qualifies as violence versus nonviolence? This distinction is often mobilized in the service of ratifying the state’s monopoly on violence. Considering nonviolence as an ethical problem within a political philosophy requires two things: a critique of individualism and an understanding of the psychosocial dimensions of violence.
