This book presents an overview of the main research findings and case studies concerning education and skills for inclusive growth, green jobs and the greening of economies. Focusing on India, Indonesia, Sri Lanka and Viet Nam, it discusses government and business sector responses to these issues and how Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) systems and institutions are addressing both the renewal of curricula in the context of green growth dynamics, and patterns of training and skills development to meet demands. In addition, the book examines cross-country issues, concerns and prospects regarding education and skills for inclusive growth and green jobs for the four countries. These include critical themes and issues in the selected industry sectors triggering a demand for green jobs in the region; how industry is responding to those demands; areas impeding the transition from traditional to green practices; the importance of skills development; the role of TVET in addressing industry needs; and reasons for the slow response of TVET to green skills.While other studies conducted in Asia – and internationally - on the same topic have largely relied on secondary sources, this study conducted by the Asian Development Bank and the Education University of Hong Kong (ADB-EdUHK) is unique in that the findings, conclusions and recommendations reported on are based on primary data. As part of the study, TVET providers, business enterprises, policy makers and practitioners were surveyed using questionnaires and face-to-face interviews. In addition, workshops were held in each of the four countries to ascertain the views of key stakeholders in government, nongovernment organisations, members of the international development community, TVET providers and members of the business sector.The book also provides summaries of the case studies undertaken for India, Indonesia, Sri Lanka and Viet Nam.

The Living Systems Theory of Vocational Behavior and Development (LSVD) explains and illustrates the processes by which individuals construct their work experiences, vocational pathways and career patterns through episodes of interaction with affordances they recognize within their contexts, and how counseling can facilitate those processes. The LSVD was created by combining the scientifically based systems theory that explicates the dynamics of all aspects of human functioning and development, called Humans as Self-Constructing Living Systems, with important ideas about vocational behavior and development. The resulting integrative theory represents the individual person as a dynamic, self-directing and self-constructing entity, i.e., a living system. Behavior Episodes (BEs) are the fundamental, person-in-context, dynamic units of analysis that serve as the “building blocks” by which individuals construct and retain their experiences in patterns that can be reactivated to facilitate future BEs. The book describes how individuals’ history of satisfying BEs and their current activities provide the means by which vocational and career counselors can assist them to create satisfying vocational pathways. It also describes for researchers how new, non-linear, person-centered, quantitative and qualitative research methods can be used to analyze BE patterns to advance understanding of person-level processes that play key roles in individuals’ vocational behavior and development. The LSVD was designed to be not just an integrative framework for the field of career development, but also to reconnect the field to related areas such as human resources and industrial-organizational psychology and to the range of human sciences that have already embraced a living systems theoretical model.

Este libro desarrolla los contenidos del módulo profesional de Gestión del Montaje de Instalaciones Solares Fotovoltaicas del Ciclo Formativo de grado superior de Energías Renovables, perteneciente a la familia profesional de Energía y Agua. El libro se estructura en nueve unidades. La Unidad 1 es una introducción a las instalaciones solares fotovoltaicas en la que se presentan las distintas tipologías posibles y la normativa vigente de aplicación. La Unidad 2 se dedica a la geometría y la radiación solar. En la Unidad 3 se estudian los módulos y los generadores fotovoltaicos, los distintos sistemas de agrupamiento y las formas de conexionado. Las Unidades 4 y 5 se dedican a las instalaciones aisladas y a aquellas conectadas a red, respectivamente. Se identifican las distintas configuraciones posibles y se determinan y seleccionan los elementos que las componen. También se estima la energía producida por estas instalaciones teniendo en cuenta las pérdidas energéticas. Las Unidades 6, 7 y 8 se dedican a la planificación, el montaje y el mantenimiento de las instalaciones solares fotovoltaicas. En ellas se estudian diversas herramientas de planificación y gestión, se exponen los principales procedimientos de actuación y se analiza la documentación técnica necesaria. Por último, la Unidad 9 se centra en la prevención de riesgos, la seguridad y la protección medioambiental. Al mismo tiempo, los contenidos curriculares, desarrollados de forma clara y rigurosa, se complementan con gran número de figuras que informan, aclaran conceptos y ayudan en el aprendizaje. Cada unidad incluye una serie de actividades resueltas y propuestas que clarifican los contenidos y favorecen su asimilación. Los cuadros recordatorios, de información adicional o importante y otros con enlaces web de interés completan las explicaciones. Además, al final de cada unidad se ofrece un mapa conceptual que permite el repaso de los conceptos clave antes de realizar las actividades finales de comprobación, de aplicación y de ampliación, que permiten evaluar la comprensión de los contenidos, consolidar el aprendizaje, seguir profundizando en la materia y fomentar una actitud activa ante la búsqueda de información y la actualización técnica.
