O livro Consciência linguística na escola: experiências e vivências na sala de aula e na formação de professores traz relatos de experiências, resultados de pesquisas e reflexões acerca de como desenvolver e aplicar essa temática dentro dos anos iniciais escolares. De forma complementar, transpõe esses fundamentos em inúmeras sugestões de atividades para sua aplicação no dia a dia escolar, com a apresentação de jogos, leituras e atividades lúdicas que contribuem para esse momento fundamental da aprendizagem infantil. Para isso, os capítulos foram organizados de modo a conduzir o leitor aos vários segmentos escolares, desde a educação infantil até a alfabetização de jovens e adultos. Os 15 autores desta obra são ligados à área da Educação, participantes da equipe ou de eventos promovidos pelo Programa de Extensão Aletra - Grupo de Estudos em Alfabetização e Linguagem, que desenvolve suas atividades desde 2007. A ideia do livro surgiu em função dos participantes das formações realizadas pelo Aletra se mostrarem interessados na temática, querendo aprofundar-se nos conceitos trazidos nos cursos e oficinas, perguntando sobre em que local poderiam encontrar mais explicações de tais assuntos. Com a dificuldade de recomendar obras que reunissem essas bases teóricas de modo acessível e vinculadas, diretamente, ao trabalho a ser desenvolvido pelo professor, nasceu este livro que traz as pesquisas transformadas em ações para a sala de aula, proposta deste grupo de estudos em linguagem e alfabetização.
