Ce recueil comprend vingt histoires et contes originaux écrits dans les parlers des communes de Naves et de Vicq (Allier), par deux locuteurs natifs de ces parlers. Le parler de Naves appartient aux parlers du Croissant. Dans cette zone, qui correspond à la frange nord du Massif central, on pratique traditionnellement des parlers gallo-romans de transition présentant simultanément des traits typiques des variétés d'oc et d'oïl. L'ouvrage peut être mis en perspective avec les oeuvres issues de la littérature de terroir, mais aussi avec les oeuvres appartenant à la littérature en occitan auvergnat. Il présente un corpus conséquent dans des parlers aujourd'hui menacés de disparition. Outre la transcription orthographique, chaque texte est transcrit en alphabet phonétique et traduit en français.

Le Croissant correspond à la zone mixte où se rejoignent les trois grandes aires gallo-romanes : oc, oïl et francoprovençal. Il s'étend de la Montagne bourbonnaise (Allier) au centre de la Charente. Les parlers qu'on pratique dans cette zone, présentant simultanément des traits caractéristiques de l'occitan, des langues d'oïl et parfois du francoprovençal, remettent en question les frontières intangibles et les catégories établies. Pas vraiment (ou pas suffisamment ?) d'oc, pas vraiment d'oïl, pas vraiment francoprovençaux non plus, les parlers du Croissant sont longtemps restés en marge des études sur le langage. Ces parlers, désormais en voie d'extinction, méritent pourtant d'être davantage (re)connus, tant sur le plan scientifique que patrimonial. Le projet collectif « Les Parlers du Croissant », associant chercheurs et locuteurs, aspire à illustrer et étudier ces variétés dialectales originales, en collectant des données auprès des personnes qui les pratiquent encore ainsi qu'en faisant la synthèse des sources disponibles. Le présent ouvrage est le fruit des efforts que l'équipe du projet consacre aux parlers du Croissant depuis maintenant plus de cinq ans, dans une perspective ouverte et pluridisciplinaire.

Andrea Alciati's Emblematum Liber was an essential work for every writer, artist and scholar in post-medieval Europe. This volume discusses the so-called Oneirocriticon of Achmet, the most important Byzantine work on dream interpretation which was written in Greek in the 10th century and has greatly influenced subsequent dreambooks in Byzantine Greek, Medieval Latin, and modern European languages. By comparing the Oneirocriticon with the 2nd-century A.D. dreambook of Artemidoros (translated into Arabic in the 9th century) and five medieval Arabic dreambooks, this study demonstrates that the Oneirocriticon is a Christian Greek adaption of Islamic Arabic material and that the similarities between it and Artemidoros are due to the influence of Artemidoros on the Arabic sources of the Byzantine work. The Oneirocriticon's textual tradition, its language, the identities of its author and patron, and its position among other Byzantine translations from Arabic into Greek are also investigated.
