E saber que através da poesia talvez compreendamos o momento em que novos conhecimentos nos surpreendem, preparando-nos para conhecer e aceitar novos tempos que ainda não conhecemos perfeitamente, mas conheceremos. Essencial é respeitar a natureza. Se preocupar com o bem-estar das pessoas e de mais animais. E não deixa de ser palavras de revolta pela forma como o mundo e seus habitantes temos sido tratados. Uma pergunta talvez seja pertinente: o que virá depois? O humano, na ânsia de conhecer, em sua busca incessante da felicidade? Certa vez eu disse a alguém especial: “Se eu soubesse onde está plantado o bem querer, essa árvore encantada, bem de raiz, eu colheria e plantaria em seu peito para ver florescer, e lhe fazer feliz”. Certamente eu queria me referir ao vasto universo que é nosso mundo de sentimentos, onde está plantada a felicidade, tão enigmática, que, como eu disse acima, sempre procuramos compreender. “Converso em Verso”. Procuramos mostrar, como fazem outros, que a poesia é uma forma de fazer entender o que se passa, porque a poesia nos faz pensar. É o título que dei a meus atuais sentimentos poéticos. No amor, amizades, negócios, vida, tempo, crenças, morte, tudo enfim. Porque assim é a vida, um barco a navegar nesse imenso oceano a receber todos os rios que desaguam em nossa sensibilidade. Sem mais dizer, espero que você se encontre em alguma das poesias. E seja feliz. O autor.

Five centuries after the forced conversion of Spanish and Portuguese Jews to Catholicism, stories of these conversos' descendants uncovering long-hidden Jewish roots have come to light and taken hold of the literary and popular imagination. This seemingly remote history has inspired a wave of contemporary writing involving hidden artifacts, familial whispers and secrets, and clandestine Jewish ritual practices pointing to a past that had been presumed dead and buried. The Converso's Return explores the cultural politics and literary impact of this reawakened interest in converso and crypto-Jewish history, ancestry, and identity, and asks what this fascination with lost-and-found heritage can tell us about how we relate to and make use of the past. Dalia Kandiyoti offers nuanced interpretations of contemporary fictional and autobiographical texts about crypto-Jews in Cuba, Mexico, New Mexico, Spain, France, the Ottoman Empire, and Turkey. These works not only imagine what might be missing from the historical archive but also suggest an alternative historical consciousness that underscores uncommon convergences of and solidarities within Sephardi, Christian, Muslim, converso, and Sabbatean histories. Textual Agency examines the massive proliferation of poetic texts in fifteenth-century Spain, focusing on the important yet little-known cancionero poetry – the largest poetic corpus of the European Middle Ages. Ana M. Gómez-Bravo situates this cultural production within its social, political, and material contexts. She places the different forms of document production fostered by a shifting political and urban model alongside the rise in literacy and access to reading materials and spaces. At the core of the book lies an examination of both the materials of writing and how human agents used and transformed them, giving way to a textual agency that pertains not only to writers, but to the inscribed paper. Gómez-Bravo also explores how authorial and textual agency were competing forces in the midst of an era marked by the institution of the Inquisition, the advent of the absolutist state, the growth of cities, and the constitution of the Spanish nation.
