Esta obra é fruto de uma pesquisa de Mestrado que percorreu o caminho etnográfico envolto em oficinas artísticas de criação da Literatura de Cordel, entrevistas semiestruturadas, observações e iconografias na territorialidade da Sussuarana e sua comunidade, em Salvador/BA. Dialogamos a respeito dos aspectos de valores comunais que estruturam o ser/estar com dos nossos jovens colaboradores desta aventura pedagógica, como bem diz Antonio Carlos Gomes da Costa.

O presente estudo tem como tema principal “a literatura de cordel como etiologia de inspiração no ensino da língua portuguesa”, tendo como objetivo identificar e analisar dados sobre uma das competências menos desenvolvidas no ensino de literatura e língua portuguesa em sala de aula, que é sem dúvida alguma o gênero cordel, que pode ser uma boa oportunidade do aluno ter um contato com a experiência cultural que emana desta literatura e toda sua riqueza expressiva, quanto à articulação de várias linguagens: verbal oral, verbal escrita, musical e visual e quanto aos diversificados temas que o aborda. Podemos assim conhecer, valorizar e respeitar a multiculturalidade própria do nosso país e os significados e coletividades, experiências comunitárias, e o imaginário do folclore, presente na produção do cordel. Além do mais, é bastante formidável discutir com os discentes como a literatura de cordel, até por supervivência acaba de integrar inovações da indústria cultural, o que a converte mais rica e diversificada. Portanto, o que se pode ressaltar neste projeto é que a literatura de cordel ainda é pouco falada e comentada em sala de aula, muitos educandos não sabem ainda nem distinguir o que é literatura de cordel, o que é um conto, uma fábula, uma crônica, uma poesia, um texto literário e assim por diante. A ideia deste estudo é justamente isso, tentar propor aos discentes e docentes o quanto nossa literatura é importante para o resgate da cultura popular e ao mesmo tempo em que se faz esse resgate, pode-se trabalhar diversos textos que despertem o prazer pela leitura e escrita na própria sala de aula. Sabe-se que nossa língua portuguesa é muito rica e diversificada assim como sua produção cultural. Temos uma cultura rica, de um povo, que a exemplo disso temos o nordestino que é um povo especial. Ainda assim, provavelmente o nosso grande problema seja o não enaltecimento daquilo que temos. Torna-se mais favorável aceitar o que a mídia sugere do que estudar o que está em nosso cotidiano. A literatura de cordel é justamente essa coisa: “a cultura comum, popular”. Os versos encontram-se sempre narrando acontecimentos, fatos políticos, artísticos, lendários, entre outras coisas mais.
