The anthology presents the social consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic in the field of work and gainful employment from a multidisciplinary perspective of social and economic sciences. Specifically, it deals with the analysis of changes in work processes and relations in the course of the COVID-19 pandemic. Different facets of the discussion are taken up, and the topic of "work, precarity and COVID-19" is discussed along a wide range of diversity categories (age, gender, disability, social origin, ethnicity, religion, etc.) and their intersections (intersectionality). At the same time, the focus is on discussing alternative models and ways of dealing with the current crisis that (re)establish social justice and inclusion through work. The translation was done with the help of artificial intelligence. A subsequent human revision was done primarily in terms of content.

Zudem soll ermittelt werden, welche Vor- und Nachteile Consultants im Homeoffice festgestellt haben und wie sich die Veränderungen auf das Rekrutieren neuer Mitarbeiter*innen auswirken. Die Corona-Pandemie hat das Leben vieler Menschen maßgeblich verändert. Die Auswirkungen sind auch im beruflichen Kontext spürbar. In der Literatur sind vorwiegend Daten zu den Auswirkungen von Corona und der Nutzung von Homeoffice verfügbar, die für alle Berufsgruppen und Branchen gelten. Es werden eine qualitative Untersuchung durchgeführt und sieben Berater*innen im Bankensektor interviewt. Die Ergebnisse wurden mit denen aus der Literaturrecherche zusammengebracht. Es konnte festgestellt werden, dass der Wechsel ins Homeoffice die größte Veränderung in der Arbeitsweise von Consultants darstellt. Ein damit einhergehender Vorteil ist der Wegfall von einem Großteil der Reiseaktivitäten, was sich positiv auf die Work-Life-Balance von den Berater*innen auswirkt. Als nachteilig wird der fehlende persönliche Kontakt zum Kunden angesehen. Es wird davon ausgegangen, dass die Berater*innen im Bankenbereich nicht wieder zu ihrem Arbeitsrhythmus von vor Corona zurückkehren werden und Homeoffice und hybride Arbeitsmodelle bestehen bleiben. Daher ist es wichtig, dass sich die Consultants wie auch die Kunden die Vorteile von Homeoffice zu Nutzen machen und die Nachteile größtenteils zu minimieren versuchen. Auswirkungen auf den Recruitingprozess und die Gruppe an Bewerber*innen konnten kaum festgestellt werden. Allerdings spielt die Möglichkeit, zuhause arbeiten zu können, eine große Rolle bei den Bewerbungsgesprächen. Das bedeutet für Consultingunternehmen, dass sie sich mit der Frage auseinandersetzen müssen, ob sie ihren Mitarbeiter*innen zukünftigen einen festen Anteil Homeoffice anbieten wollen und können.

This open access book offers a multidisciplinary and comprehensive perspective regarding the immediate and long-term effects of the Covid-19 pandemic on coworking spaces in the European Region. The current pandemic has imposed several effects on work and spaces for work. Some are immediate effects and will last for a short time (such as the closing down of the space), some will last longer (namely, the reorganisation of the space to meet the physical distancing), and some will stay for a long time (remote working and hybrid working). Although the literature on coworking spaces and the effects of the pandemic is growing fast, empirical studies are yet limited. Within this context, this book seeks a twofold aim: (i) to contribute to the fast-growing literature on coworking space and their effects at different scales; (ii) to present a multidisciplinary perspective about the effects of the yet-lasting Corona-pandemic effects on the patterns of remote working and consequently on coworking spaces, as the most diffused form of new working spaces.

During the first two years of the COVID-19 pandemic, social policy was one of the most important strategies used by governments to help mitigate the crisis. European Social Policy and the COVID-19 Pandemic: Challenges to National Welfare and EU Policy provides an encompassing and longer-term analysis of the social policy responses of European countries, as well as the European Union (EU), to the challenges of the pandemic. The book asks in which direction the European welfare states, on the one hand, and EU social policy, on the other, are developing as a result of the pandemic with respect to polity, politics, and policy instruments. European Social Policy and the COVID-19 Pandemic addresses several questions, such as what medium- and long-term effects will the current social policy crisis responses have on the different welfare states? Ein Leitfaden zu Home Office und mobilem Arbeiten Seit März 2020 dominiert ein Thema in Deutschland: die Corona-Pandemie.
