Crimson Waterfall tells a series of gripping true stories about individuals who accomplished extraordinary things or made the best of life in spite of hard times and misfortune. There are stories about: a white man who fell in love with and married a mulatto woman four years after the Civil War; how the mulatto son of a white man became a plantation owner and sent many of his 21 children to college; a white father who tried to leave his mulatto son an inheritance and the almost-six-year court battle that ensued; a university dean/president who was at the center of first sit-ins at Greensboro, North Carolina; a man who started high school at 21 and became a renowned research scientist; and a black teacher who was the first to integrate an all-white public school in a small Southern town. The six related families referred to on the cover are the Scarboroughs, Clarks, Westons, Wrights, Shivers, and Scotts. This book goes beyond family history and includes unusual historical facts that will be of educational value to the general public. From the numerous historical facts cited, the reader will learn why the state of Georgia's readmission to the Union after the Civil War was revoked and later reinstated, why the state of West Virginia was created during the Civil War, the history of "Black Indians," the extent of Southern white opposition to the Confederacy, the great flu outbreak of 1918, and the "Orangeburg (SC) Massacre" of 1968. The author reaches out to the reader by his commentaries, original adages, and poetry such as: Love is its own blessing, its own justification, its own destiny. We learn more by understanding than by finding fault. We achieve our best when we help others. Family history brings together the scattered pieces of our identity. In the many true stories related in this chronicle, we may see something of ourselves."

At the height of World War II, Erika Boeshure, a photojournalist, flees Nazi Germany and goes to Mexico on assignment for a New York magazine. There, in a sleepy Mexican village on the edge of the jungle, she meets Claus Boehm, a Danish-born archaeologist who is struggling to restore a career shattered by alcoholism. Erika is inspired to write about Claus and his quest to find Menche, a legendary city of the ancient Maya. She talks him into letting her join his expedition. In the heart of the rain forest, the explorers run into a rival expedition that plans to exploit the rain forest. Finally, they meet the elusive Lacandon Indians, descendants of the ancient Maya who have retreated into the forest to escape the encroachments of Western civilization. The son of the chief joins their search for the lost city of the Gods in order to redeem his sins. For Erika, the perils of the quest stretch her courage and physical resources. Amidst the mounting dangers, she and Claus fall in love. They vow that should they survive the search for Menche, they will dedicate themselves to saving the endangered rain forest and the Lacandon Indians.

An ancient evil. And only one woman knows the two are connected. For fans of Stephen King, Nick Cutter, and Thomas Heuvelt, this breathtaking gothic ghost thriller is a masterfully crafted novel about what horrors might exist on the other side—whether we believe they are there or not. “An expertly layered work of impressive scope, The Jilted will leave you pondering the real-life differences between good and evil.” ~Bestselling Author Kristen Mae Aftertaste: Along the fault, a spa day becomes a claustrophobic nightmare for five sisters. The perfect afternoon turns bloody for one suburban neighborhood. A husband’s journey through a frozen hellscape tests every inch of his resolve. One man’s life changes course after discovering an animal in the swamp—one different from all others. And each diabolical tale is as twisted and hypnotic as you’ve come to expect from Meghan O’Flynn. Listeners: A twisted and terrifically macabre collection of short stories guaranteed to make you cringe, laugh, cry…and start sleeping with the lights on. A mysterious thrilling short story.” ~Bestselling Author Emerald O’Brien “Four Hours”: Tonight, they have one hell of a mess to clean up. And time’s running out. “A rollicking believably-unbelievable romp between three friends, with a Shakespeare-inspired death count. Absolutely incredible.” ~Author K.R. Stanfield “I love horror and [O’Flynn’s] story crafting is as good as it gets. This story really got under my skin! INTENSE creepy factor, multi-layered, supernatural horror. Brought me back to the days when I’d stay up till the wee hours of the morning reading Stephen King novels.” ~Award-winning Author Beth Teliho “Heart-stopping twists and turns, answers to your burning questions hiding in plain sight, yet you can’t see them because O’Flynn once again writes in such a way that makes you question everything. In short…brilliance.” -Author Mike Cruise “The creepy horrors that come from Meghan O’Flynn’s twisted mind create an intriguing tale that sends the reader on a thought-provoking journey. I love her take on the world of ghosts and demons, and would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys Stephen King." -Author Chrissy Woj “Meghan O’Flynn has this way of writing that makes you forget yourself…a delightfully confusing and panicky read as she mindf*cks you page after page. There were at least five different times where I was absolutely sure I knew how it would end…NOPE.” -Author Louise Treadwell “Gripping, thought-provoking, and unbearably tense.” ~Bestselling Author Wendy Heard “From the feverishly surreal to the downright demented, O’Flynn takes you on a twisted journey through the deepest and darkest corners of the human mind.” ~Bestselling Author Mary Widdicks

The name Edgar Allan Poe conjures up thoughts of hearts beating long after their owners are dead, of disease and plague amid wealth, and of love that extends beyond the grave. The richness of Poe's writing, however, includes much more than horror, loss, and death. Poe's stories teem with irony and black humor, in addition to plot twists and surprise endings. Living by their own rules and charged with passion, Poe's characters are instantly recognizable – even though we may be appalled by their actions, we understand their motivations. This collection contains eleven of Poe's best stories. They are "The Fall of the House of Usher," "The Pit and the Pendulum," "The Tell-Tale Heart," "The Cask of Amontillado," "The Premature Burial," "Ligeia," "The Black Cat," "The Oval Portrait," "Berenice," "The Facts in the Case of M. Valdemar," and "The System of Dr. Tarr and Prof. Fether."
