Nel periodo 1895-1928 era ancora vigente il comune autonomo; il nuovo Comune di Calasca Castiglione fu costituito nel 1928, per volontà del governo di allora. Gli articoli riportati trattano di storie di vita quotidiana, riguardanti gli avvenimenti sul territorio del Comune e della Parrocchia, tratti dai vecchi periodici stampati nell’Ossola dal 1895 al 1960. Ma il fatto più crudo è quello avvenuto nel 1945: la barbara uccisione del parroco Don Giuseppe Rossi, raccontata da Ada Piffero, la giovinetta che ne trovò il corpo nelle vicinanze di Colombetti. Tutte queste notizie sono state impresse sulla stampa locale e faranno ricordare ai paesani alcuni momenti di vita del paese anzaschino: si ritroveranno personaggi e luoghi conosciuti. Probabilmente molti fatti saranno stati raccontati in famiglia dagli anziani che li hanno vissuti, altri, saranno sconosciuti o, dato i molti anni trascorsi, dimenticati. I giornali che parlano del territorio di Castiglione sono stati consultati presso la Biblioteca Comunale Gianfranco Contini e presso il Collegio Mellerio Rosmini di Domodossola. Dopo aver raccolto le cronache di Vanzone con San Carlo dal 1895 al 1960, Umberto De Petri ha raccolto ancora una volta cronache della Valle Anzasca, quelle di Ceppomorelli. Presso la Biblioteca G. Contini di Domodossola ha consultato i giornali ossolani dal 1896 al 1960 e ha trascritto gli articoli riguardanti la vita quotidiana del paese: nascite, morti, matrimoni, feste, inaugurazioni, disgrazie, vicende comunali, parrocchiali. Gli articoli riportati sono stati tratti dai seguenti periodici: L’Ossola, L’Indipendente, Il Popolo dell’Ossola, Il Toce, Il Commercio Ossolano, La Gazzetta del Lago Maggiore, Risveglio Ossolano. Le fotografie delle chiese site nel Comune di Ceppomorelli sono di Luigi Paciello.
