In Folge dessen gibt diese Seminararbeit einen Uberblick uber die United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) im Allgemeinen und klart anschlieend daruber auf, wie ein bestimmter Ort UNESCO-Welterbestatte werden kann. Die Verpflichtungen der Welterbestatten werden im weiteren Verlauf kurz erlautert, bevor diese Arbeit mit der Bedeutung einer Statte, auf der Welterbeliste, fur die Tourismuswirtschaft fortfuhrt. Im Zusammenhang mit der Bedeutung fur die Tourismuswirtschaft werden auch die Zielgruppen definiert und der kritische Zusammenhang zwischen dem Schutz eines Erbes und dem gleichermaen bedeutenden Tourismus an den Statten dargestellt. Die Seminararbeit schliet mit dem Fazit ab. Da es sich beim Weltkulturerbe um Statten handelt, die sich tatsachlich auf der Liste der UNESCO befinden, werden in dieser Seminararbeit die immateriellen kulturellen Erben nicht berucksichtigt.

"Communicative interactions in international negotiations on cultural property not only provide information about the emergence and proliferation of arguments, rhetorics, and registers, but also permit valuable insights into actors' positions, strategies and alliances. They significantly influence local and national practices and views related to cultural property debates. What can be gained from a deep analysis of the communicative patterns and strategies that actors engage in - the entailing text and talk of negotiations - is a better understanding of the process itself: how do different actors argue, what kind of strategies and rhetorics do they use, to which instruments and institutions do they refer, and in what way do actors react to each other? An analysis of communicative interactions contributes to the question of how international negotiations work. The analytic inclusion of sociolinguistic practices allows insights into positions, strategies, and perspectives pertaining to cultural property. By looking at not only what actors say, but also at how and in what contexts they do so, it is possible to make more accurate statements about their positions and perceptions in cultural property debates. Against the backdrop of international conventions and their implementation, Cultural Property and Contested Ownership explores how highly-valued cultural goods are traded and negotiated among diverging parties and their interests. Cultural artefacts, such as those kept and trafficked between art dealers, private collectors and museums, have become increasingly localized in a ‘Bermuda triangle’ of colonialism, looting and the black market, with their re-emergence resulting in disputes of ownership and claims for return. This interdisciplinary volume provides the first book-length investigation of the changing behaviours resulting from the effect of the 1970 UNESCO Convention on the Means of Prohibiting and Preventing the Illicit Import, Export and Transfer of Ownership of Cultural Property. The collection considers the impact of the Convention on the way antiquity dealers, museums and auction houses, as well as nation states and local communities, address issues of provenance, contested ownership, and the trafficking of cultural property. The book contains a range of contributions from anthropologists, lawyers, historians and archaeologists. Individual cases are examined from a bottom-up perspective and assessed from the viewpoint of international law in the Epilogue. The concept of heritage relates to the ways in which contemporary society uses the past as a social, political or economic resource.
