John Keats (1795-1821) é um dos maiores poetas ingleses de todos os tempos. Foi decisivo para a poesia moderna e sua influência transcendeu a sua própria língua. Ligado a segunda geração de poetas românticos, geração que inclui seus contemporâneos Byron e Shelley, esta edição bilíngue traz para o leitor alguns de seus melhores e mais importantes poemas. Nascido em Londres em 31 de outubro de 1795, John Keats é sem dúvida um dos mais importantes poetas da língua inglesa. Costuma-se dizer que teria sido até maior que Shakespeare se a tuberculose não o houvesse levado prematuramente aos vinte e seis anos. Nos legou em apenas sete anos de trajetória poética verdadeiras obras primas como "Ode a um rouxinol", "Ode a um vaso grego", "Ode à melancolia", "No mar", "Escrito no cimo de Ben Nevis", "Ao outono", entre outras. No longo poema "Véspera de Sta. Agnes", os versos se sucedem num solene fluxo imagético, engendrado como uma insólita montagem cinematográfica. Em Keats, o preciosismo e a ornamentação de linguagem mescla-se à invenção verbal e à melissonância do verso como dificilmente podemos encontrar em outro poeta inglês. Esta tradução, caracteriza-se, antes de tudo, pela extrema fidelidade e alta definição do significado poético, revelando o profundo sentido filosófico que imanta estes versos. Apresentamos aqui alguns dos mais inspirados escritos deste poeta cujo nome "estava escrito em água".

En las bases de la convocatoria del Premio Reina Sofía de Poesía Iberoamericana se hace constar que el premiado recibe como parte del galardón la “edición de un volumen con una recopilación antológica de poemas del autor premiado, para divulgar su obra y sin finalidad lucrativa, que será publicado por Ediciones Universidad de Sala- manca”. Ese gran encargo, realizado por Patrimonio Nacional y la Universidad de Salamanca, comenzó en 1992 con la edición del libro Cinco visiones de Gonzalo Rojas que prologó la profesora Carmen Ruiz Barrionuevo. Mas con aquel poemario se inició una nueva etapa para Ediciones Universidad de Salamanca. En lo propiamente editorial dio origen a una colección, la Biblioteca de América, que año tras año se ha ido enriqueciendo con los títulos de los sucesivos poetas galardonados: Claudio Rodríguez, João Cabral de Melo Neto, José Hierro, Ángel González, Álvaro Mutis, José Ángel Valente, Mario Benedetti, Pere Gimferrer, Nicanor Parra, José Antonio Muñoz Rojas, Sophia de Mello, José Manuel Caballero Bonald, Juan Gelman, Antonio Gamoneda, Blanca Varela, Pablo García Baena, José Emilio Pacheco, Francisco Brines y, en esta vigésima ocasión, con la poeta cubana Fina García Marruz. Todos ellos aportaron un enorme valor a la nómina de autores que engrosan nuestro catálogo y dotaron a la colección de una relevancia literaria y editorial que mereció el reconocimiento, al ser premiada como mejor colección, de la Unión de Editoriales Universitarias Españolas (UNE) en el año 2006.

A significant contribution on the development and aftermath of post–World War II Concretism in Brazil Form and Feeling features a collection of essays by noted scholars exploring the sensorial, experience-based, and participatory practices pioneered in the 1950s by artists and poets such as Flávio de Carvalho, Ivan Serpa, Hélio Oiticica, Haroldo de Campos, Mary Vieira, Lygia Pape, Anna Maria Maiolino, Lygia Clark, Waly Salomão, and Emil Forman, among many others. Fourteen thought-provoking essays examine how many of their strategies constituted a pertinent critique of the country’s wide-ranging embrace of Eurocentric modernity while anticipating a number of practices prevalent among contemporary artists today—namely, the rise of art as social practice, the embrace of pedagogical concerns by artists, and relational aesthetics. The fourteen essays collected in this volume consider the ramifications of modernist abstraction in the second half of the twentieth century and contribute to a growing academic field in postwar Brazilian and Latin American art history. Contributions to this anthology examine the development of modernist ideas that flourished in Brazil during a controversial period interspersed by dictatorial regimes. The global aspect of Brazilian art is especially evident in these studies, presenting the relational complexity of their subjects as transcultural, transnational actors while simultaneously contributing to a growing, increasingly nuanced understanding of visual and material culture, performance, and criticism in Brazil. Form and Feeling continues the important process of re-analyzing the intersections of Concretism and Neo concretism, arguing for greater affinities between the primary and lesser-known cast of characters while equally redistributing the strict geographical divisions of São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro. This anthology broadly situates this extraordinary period of artistic experimentation in direct relationship to contemporary factors, such as psychoanalysis, educational systems, poetry, politics, and feminism. It crafts innovative relationships about the constructive hierarchies of form and space, poetry and painting, and mathematics and philosophy, thus engendering new positions for a deeply ensconced period in Brazilian history.
