In 1987, the author, a senior U.S. Army counterintelligence (CI) agent, became the partner of a close friend, Clyde Lee Conrad, at the head of a spy ring which had sold NATO secrets for twelve years to Hungary, Czechoslovakia, and Russia. He helped his friend sell secrets, craft a new plan for recruitment of U.S. soldiers for Hungary, and plan kidnaping, torture, and murder. Nine agents and couriers in five countries were eventually convicted of espionage and treason. No actual names are used in this book, without permission, except those connected with the spy ring. The operation and innovative trade-craft employed by the author were hailed by many as the most significant in U.S. Army counterespionage (CE) history. Danny L. Williams began his Army career at age thirty-three as a private, in Eighth Infantry Division in Germany. After five years, he graduated with honors from the U.S. Army Counterintelligence School, Fort Huachuca, Arizona, and served as field office NCOIC in Giessen, Germany, with the 165th MI Battalion. Huachuca as special operations instructor and training NCOIC with the school, then designed, taught, and implemented operational security procedures for Information Systems Command. After two years assisting the FBI, he retired a CI sergeant major and lives in Hereford, Arizona, with his wife of forty-two years, Shirley, and her two cats, Cinnamon and Ginger, who replaced Bobo and Aristocrat.

America S War On Terrorism written by Michel Chossudovsky and has been published by this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2005 with September 11 Terrorist Attacks, 2001 categories.

In this new and expanded edition of Michel Chossudovsky's 2002 best-seller, the author blows away the smokescreen put up by the mainstream media, that 9/11 was an attack on America by "Islamic terrorists". This expanded edition, which includes twelve new chapters focuses on the use of 9/11 as a pretext for the invasion and illegal occupation of Iraq, the militarisation of justice and law enforcement and the repeal of democracy. According to Chossudovsky, the "war on terrorism" is a complete fabrication based on the illusion that one man, Osama bin Laden, outwitted the $40 billion-a-year American intelligence apparatus. The "war on terrorism" is a war of conquest. Globalisation is the final march to the "New World Order", dominated by Wall Street and the U.S. military-industrial complex. September 11, 2001 provides a justification for waging a war without borders. Washington's agenda consists in extending the frontiers of the American Empire to facilitate complete U.S. corporate control, while installing within America the institutions of the Homeland Security State. Chossudovsky peels back layers of rhetoric to reveal a complex web of deceit aimed at luring the American people and the rest of the world into accepting a military solution which threatens the future of humanity.

Overthrow written by Stephen Kinzer and has been published by Macmillan this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2007-02-06 with Political Science categories.

Stephen Kinzer's Overthrow provides a fast-paced narrative history of the coups, revolutions, and invasions by which the United States has toppled fourteen foreign governments -- not always to its own benefit "Regime change" did not begin with the administration of George W. Bush, but has been an integral part of U.S. foreign policy for more than one hundred years. Starting with the overthrow of the Hawaiian monarchy in 1893 and continuing through the Spanish-American War and the Cold War and into our own time, the United States has not hesitated to overthrow governments that stood in the way of its political and economic goals. The invasion of Iraq in 2003 is the latest, though perhaps not the last, example of the dangers inherent in these operations. In Overthrow, Stephen Kinzer tells the stories of the audacious politicians, spies, military commanders, and business executives who took it upon themselves to depose monarchs, presidents, and prime ministers. He also shows that the U.S. government has often pursued these operations without understanding the countries involved; as a result, many of them have had disastrous long-term consequences. In a compelling and provocative history that takes readers to fourteen countries, including Cuba, Iran, South Vietnam, Chile, and Iraq, Kinzer surveys modern American history from a new and often surprising perspective. "Detailed, passionate and convincing . . . [with] the pace and grip of a good thriller." -- Anatol Lieven, The New York Times Book Review

Secret Intelligence written by Christopher Andrew and has been published by Routledge this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2019-07-26 with Political Science categories.

The second edition of Secret Intelligence: A Reader brings together key essays from the field of intelligence studies, blending classic works on concepts and approaches with more recent essays dealing with current issues and ongoing debates about the future of intelligence. Secret intelligence has never enjoyed a higher profile. The events of 9/11, the conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan, the missing WMD controversy, public debates over prisoner interrogation, together with the revelations of figures such as Edward Snowden, recent cyber attacks and the rise of 'hybrid warfare' have all contributed to make this a ‘hot’ subject over the past two decades. Aiming to be more comprehensive than existing books, and to achieve truly international coverage of the field, this book provides key readings and supporting material for students and course convenors. It is divided into four main sections, each of which includes full summaries of each article, further reading suggestions and student questions: • The intelligence cycle • Intelligence, counter-terrorism and security • Ethics, accountability and secrecy • Intelligence and the new warfare This new edition contains essays by leading scholars in the field and will be essential reading for students of intelligence studies, strategic studies, international security and political science in general, and of interest to anyone wishing to understand the current relationship between intelligence and policy-making.
