In der Dorfkirche St. Peter in Rieseby in Schleswig-Holstein hat sich ein Antependium des 13. Jahrhunderts erhalten, das trotz der wenigen erhaltenen Antependien dieser Zeit in der Forschung bislang kaum Beachtung fand. Das einst sehr qualitätvolle Werk mittelalterlicher Tafelmalerei und Schnitzkunst, dessen ursprüngliche Provenienz ungewiss ist, hat insbesondere weite Teile seiner Malerei inzwischen eingebüßt. Das vorliegende Buch legt aufgrund einer sorgfältigen Dokumentation der erhaltenen Farbreste erstmals eine Rekonstruktion vor, die auf digitaler Grundlage das Werk wieder erfahrbar macht und so für eine kunsthistorische Kontextuierung erschließt.
