Reclaiming Latin America written by Doctor Steve Ludlam and has been published by Zed Books Ltd. this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2013-07-04 with Political Science categories.

Reclaiming Latin America is a one-stop guide to the revival of social democratic and socialist politics across the region. At the end of the Cold War, and through decades of neoliberal domination and the 'Washington Consensus' it seemed that the left could do nothing but beat a ragged retreat in Latin America. Yet this book looks at the new opportunities that sprang up through electoral politics and mass action during that period. The chapters here warn against over-simplification of the so-called 'pink wave'. Instead, through detailed historical analysis of Latin America as a whole and country-specific case studies, the book demonstrates the variety of approaches to establishing a lasting social justice. From the anti-imperialism of the Bolivarian Alternative for the Americas in Venezuela, Bolivia and Cuba, to the more gradualist routes being taken in Chile, Argentina and Brazil, Reclaiming Latin America gives a real sense of the plurality of political responses to popular discontent.

Research Paper (undergraduate) from the year 2010 in the subject Business economics - Marketing, Corporate Communication, CRM, Market Research, Social Media, grade: 1,0, Munich University of Applied Sciences (Fakultät 09 für Wirtschafts-Ingenieurwesen: Master of Business Administration&Engineering), course: Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) and International Joint Venture (IJV) in Brazil, language: English, abstract: For several decades now, we are experiencing an unavoidable and strongly growing market globalization. Beyond the traditional export business, industrial globalization keeps penetrating the world ́s countries and markets under many different forms of international businesses and strategic alliances. This term paper describes, justifies and compares two forms of cross-border business expansion strategies into the Brazilian Market that a Multi-National-Corporation (MNC) may resort to: Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) and International Joint Venture (IJV). Their implementation strongly depends of the market type that a host country offers. A common denominator of both international market entry modes is the obviously advantageous presence of interests of the involved MNC ́s when trying to expand their businesses into host countries. This direct presence in a host country means additional speed to market and provides the MNC ́s far more possibilities of establishing, conducting and controlling international businesses, than the traditional export business. The generalizing statement made in the paragraph above is only meant to provide an introductory feeling on how the market of a host country determines the strategy for business expansion. Naturally, there are far more important facts and reasons to be considered that ultimately force investors into conducting extensive, deep and detailed analysis of not only the market conditions and structures found in pinpointed host countries of their interest, but much more must they make profound and accurate analys

Anthropology Beyond Culture written by Richard G. Fox and has been published by Routledge this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2020-05-18 with Social Science categories.

Culture is a vexed concept within anthropology. From their earliest studies, anthropologists have often noted the emotional attachment of people to their customs, even in cases where this loyalty can make for problems. Do anthropologists now suffer the same kind of disability with respect to their continuing emotional attachment to the concept of culture? This book considers the state of the culture concept in anthropology and finds fault with a ‘love it or leave it' attitude. Rather than pledging undying allegiance or summarily dismissing it, the volume argues that anthropology can continue with or without a concept of culture, depending on the research questions being asked, and, furthermore, that when culture is retained, no single definition of it is practical or necessary.Offering sensible solutions to a topic of hot debate, this book will be essential reading for anyone seeking to learn what a concept of culture can offer anthropology, and what anthropology can offer the concept of culture.

As South Africa has entered the third decade after the end of apartheid, this book aims at taking stock of the post-apartheid dynamics in the, so far, often less-comprehensively analysed, but crucial fields of APRM-relevant politics, social development, land and regional relations. In the first part of the book an analysis of some structuring domestic features of post-apartheid South Africa is provided, with a focus on political processes and debates around gender, HIV/AIDS and religion. The second part of the volume focuses on the land question and part three is looking at South Africa’s role in the Southern African region. Feinberg, Anna-Maria Gentili, Preben Kaarsholm, Mandisa Mbali, David Moore, Arrigo Pallotti, Roberta Pellizzoli, Chris Saunders, Timothy Scarnecchia, Cherryl Walker, Lorenzo Zambernardi, and Mario Zamponi.
