Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2007 im Fachbereich Soziologie - Kultur, Technik, Völker, Note: 1,7, Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz Universität Hannover, Veranstaltung: Sozialanthropologie der Hexerei, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Im Europa zur Zeit der Reformation erstarkte ein neues Verständnis von Religion und die starken Veränderungen und Umwälzungen dieser krisengeschüttelten Epoche, bereiteten einen Nährboden für eine Hysterie, welche großen Einfluss auf den sich ausbreitenden Hexenglauben und die Angst vor dem dämonischen Weib nahm. Die Scheiterhaufen Europas loderten im ausgehenden Mittelalter. Schätzungen zu Folge starben etwa 100.000 Menschen , vornehmlich Frauen, zu Unrecht als Hexen diffamiert, in den Feuern der Inquisition. Obzwar die Hexenverfolgung in Deutschland erst wesentlich später, als im Rest Europas einsetzte, so dauerte dieses dunkle Kapitel hier jedoch länger an und vollzog sich in beispielloser Intensität. Der Historiker und Archivar Joseph Hansen charakterisiert Hexen als Personen „weiblichen Geschlechts, die einen Pakt mit dem Teufel geschlossen haben, um mit dessen Hülfe den Mitmenschen Schädigungen zuzufügen, die untereinander eine ketzerische Sekte bilden, die an dem unter dem Vorsitz des Teufels stattfindenden nächtlichen Hexensabbat theilnehmen, die sich zu diesem Sabbat mit teuflischer Hülfe in schnellem Flug durch die Lüfte hinbegeben, die endlich untereinander und mit dem Teufel geschlechtliche Unzucht verüben.“ Dass nicht nur Frauen der Hexerei bezichtigt wurden, ist ein oft übergangener Fakt, dennoch beschäftigt sich diese Arbeit mit der gesellschaftlich - sozialen Stellung der Frau während der Phase der Hexenverfolgung. Beleuchtet werden sollen die Gründe, welche dazu führten, dass Frauen zum Opfer der Nachstellungen wurden. Zudem kann die Hexenverfolgung nicht losgelöst von Staat und Kirche der frühen Neuzeit gesehen werden. Soziale, ökonomische und geschichtliche Hintergrundinformationen sollen die Gründe für die Hexenhysterie beleuchten und nicht zuletzt den Wandel im Frauenbild genauer darstellen. Welche Rolle spielte die Gesellschaft und ihre Veränderungen während dieser Zeit? Warum billigte sie über einen so großen Zeitraum die Verfolgungen? Ziel der Arbeit ist es, das Bild der Hexe, wie es in der Zeit der Hexenverfolgung mit ihrem Höhepunkt im „Zeitraum von 1550 bis 1650, zeitgeschichtlich das Zeitalter der Renaissance“, zu charakterisieren.

Mit der aufkeimenden Emanzipation fühlen sich manche Männer in ihrer Macht angegriffen. Damit dieser Machtkampf nicht in einer Dämonisierung der Frau endet, wie es uns die Geschichte schon gezeigt hat, wird durch eine schulische Intervention versucht, diesem Prozess Einhalt zu gewähren. Durch eine schulische Intervention soll aufgezeigt werden, wie die Konstruktion des Frauenbildes von der Frühzeit bis heute einen Wandel erfahren hat und welche Einflüsse daran beteiligt waren. Diese Intervention verfolgte das Ziel, das negative Bild der Hexe zu beeinflussen. Die Ergebnisse der qualitativen und quantitativen Untersuchung zeigten, dass eine Veränderung zwischen erster und zweiter Zeichnung stattfand und dass sich das Hexenbild der Mädchen deutlich von dem der Burschen unterscheidet.

While the assumption of a sharp distinction between learned culture and lay society has been broadly challenged over the past three decades, the question of how ideas moved and were received and transformed by diverse individuals and groups stands as a continuing challenge to social and intellectual historians, especially with the emergence and integration of the methodologies of cultural history.
