Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2005 im Fachbereich Weltgeschichte - Frühgeschichte, Antike, Note: sehr gut, Universität Duisburg-Essen, Veranstaltung: Proseminar, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Einleitung Pilgereisen, wie man sie im heutigen Sinne versteht, also eine weite, strapaziöse Reise zu Zielen mit religiöser Bedeutung, bei der die Pilger1 bereit sind, Entbehrungen oder sogar ein asketisches Leben auf sich zu nehmen und sich dafür persönliches Seelenheil versprechen, haben ihre Wurzeln im Christentum.2 Die ersten Pilgerbewegungen, wenn auch noch vereinzelt, begannen in der Mitte des 2. Jahrhunderts.3 Erst zur Zeit der Konstantinischen Wende werden Pilgerreisen für eine größere Zahl von Christen möglich und durch die Pilgerreise der kaiserlichen Mutter Helena (326) hoffähig und prestigeträchtig. Die Pilgerliteratur beginnt mit dem Einsetzen der größeren Pilgerbewegungen im 4.Jhd. Im Folgenden werden nun anhand der Quellen, der Reisebericht des Pilgers von Bordeaux4 und dem Itinerarium der Egeria,5 die Reiserouten und Ziele der Pilger in der Spätantike nachvollzogen und deren Motivation zur Pilgerfahrt betrachtet. Des weiteren gilt es zu untersuchen, ob Pilgern auch für Frauen üblich und möglich war, oder ob es sich beim Pilgerwesen um eine männliche Domäne handelte. This book offers perspectives on the legal and intellectual developments of the twelfth century. Gratian's collection of Church law, the Decretum, was a key text in these developments. Compiled in around 1140, it remained a fundamental work throughout and beyond the Middle Ages. Until now, the many mysteries surrounding the creation of the Decretum have remained unsolved, thereby hampering exploration of the jurisprudential renaissance of the twelfth century. Professor Winroth has now discovered the original version of the Decretum, which has long lain unnoticed among medieval manuscripts, in a version about half as long as the final text. It is also different from the final version in many respects - for example, with regard to the use of of Roman law sources - enabling a reconsideration of the resurgence of law in the twelfth century.
