Vatikanum - hieß es 2012 und wurde sowohl in den Medien, als auch überall an den katholischen Einrichtungen und Universitäten mit zahlreichen Beiträgen und Thementagen gewürdigt. So auch beim Dies Academicus oder durch die Ringvorlesung mit vielen Augenzeugen und anderen Theologen im letzten Wintersemester an der Ludwig Maximilians Universität. Aber auch das Jahr 2013 ist ein ganz besonderes Jahr im Rahmen der Kirchen- und Konzilsgeschichte: Vor genau 450 Jahren endete das Trienter Konzil, auch Tridentinum genannt. Das Konzil wurde aufgrund der Unruhen um und mit Martin Luther dringend benötigt. Die Päpste bis Paul III. wussten allerdings ein Konzil lange zu verhindern. Ein Schnitt zog sich durch Deutschland - die Konfessionalisierung wurde durch fehlende Konzilsbeschlüsse in Glaubens- und Kirchenfragen immer weiter beschleunigt. Schafft es das Trienter Konzil 25 Jahre nach dem Anschlag der Thesen Luthers die Katholische Kirche gegen das Luthertum abzugrenzen und sich selbst zu erneuern?
