Inhaltsangabe:Zusammenfassung: Wirtschaftliche Tätigkeit forderte schon seit jeher die Fähigkeit, komplexe, durch sich widersprechende Handlungsimperative geprägte Konstellationen zu bewältigen. Die in den letzten Jahren immer häufigere Klage, das heutige Wirtschaftsleben sei mit bisher unbekannter Komplexität und Widersprüchlichkeit belastet, kann darum in ihrer Absolutheit kaum Geltung haben. Andererseits lässt es sich kaum leugnen, dass die Entwicklungen der letzten Jahrzehnte – seien sie hier nur mit den Schlagwörtern Globalisierung, Hyperkonkurrenz, Beschleunigung (unter anderem der Produktzyklen) und Relationenkomplexität umschrieben – die Anforderungen an erfolgreiches Management erhöht oder zumindest modifiziert haben: Wenn namhafte Wissenschaftler über ein „Age of Paradox“ oder eine „Welt als Montage“ schreiben, so scheint Unternehmensführung sich von ihrem klassischen Konzept orientierungsstiftender Komplexitätsreduktion und konsistenzorientierter Eindeutigkeitsschaffung entfernen zu müssen. Es geht heute darum, Komplexität nicht nur zu reduzieren, sondern mit ihr umzugehen, dilemmatische Konstellationen zu bewältigen und hieraus Chancen und Potenziale für die Unternehmensentwicklung zu generieren. Die Arbeit „Die Bewältigung von Dilemmata in der Unternehmensführung“ ist darauf ausgelegt, die Thematik der Bewältigung von Dilemmata – so wie sie sich in den letzten Jahrzehnten mit zunehmender Bedeutung in der Realität herausgebildet hat und von der Wissenschaft aufgenommen wurde – zu untersuchen und anschließend ein zeitgemäßes Konzept erfolgreicher Bewältigung zu entwickeln. Dargestellt wird zunächst, welche Bedeutung der Beschäftigung mit dilemmatisch strukturierten Konstellationen durch Organisationen bzw. durch Unternehmensführung vor dem Hintergrund des klassischen Konsistenzideals beizumessen ist. Anschließend wird aufbauend auf diversen Ansätzen verschiedener Wissenschaftsdisziplinen die Kernfrage verfolgt, wie auf der Basis fundierter Wahrnehmung von Dilemmata der Umgang mit diesen erfolgen sollte. Ziel der Arbeit ist es zu verdeutlichen, wie durch erfolgreiche Bewältigung von Dilemmata nicht nur der Komplexität der heutigen Wirtschaft begegnet, sondern auch Chancen und Potenziale, nachhaltig den Unternehmenserfolg sowohl im engeren als auch im weiteren Sinne zu steigern, eröffnet werden können.
