Sie soll Antwort darauf geben, ob Tod und Sterben ein Thema für die Grundschule ist und wie man es sinnvoll im Deutschunterricht aufgreifen kann. Sie soll aufzeigen, ob gerade der Deutschunterricht, dessen wichtigstes Medium die Sprache ist, Möglichkeiten bietet, verschiedene Formen der Kommunikation zu finden über ein Thema, das Kommunikation in unserer Gesellschaft häufig unterbricht. Es soll die Möglichkeit gegeben werden, die Ängste der Lehrer abbauen, das Thema zum Unterrichtsthema werden zu lassen. Gerade, wenn einer oder alle Schüler direkt von einem Todeserlebnis betroffen sind, ist es unausweichlich, der Trauer auch im Unterricht Raum zu lassen. Um diese Fragestellungen und Thesen adäquat beantworten zu können, werde ich in einem ersten, theoretisch orientierten Teil zunächst die soziologischen und entwicklungspsychologischen Grundvoraussetzungen der Grundschüler unserer Gesellschaft aufzeigen, die eine Beurteilung der didaktischen Relevanz des Themas erst möglich machen und auch für die Beurteilung und die Auswahl von Kinderliteratur zum Thema Tod und Sterben unausweichlich sind. Aufgrund der Interdependenz von Individuum und Gesellschaft müssen stets auch soziologische und psychologische Überlegungen angestellt werden, um die konkreten Unterrichtsinhalte für die Schüler bedeutsam und zugänglich zu machen bzw. sie daraufhin zu überprüfen. Anschließend werde ich mich mit der Entwicklung und Bewertung von Kinderliteratur zum Thema Tod und Sterben auseinandersetzen. Zur Vertiefung soll ein ausgewähltes literarisches Werk exemplarisch genauer vorgestellt und analysiert werden. Um die theoretischen Ergebnisse auch anhand einer praktischen Umsetzung im Unterricht begründen zu können, werde ich unter Berücksichtigung dieser Ergebnisse ein Unterrichtsprojekt planen und durchführen, das in einem zweiten, praktisch orientierten Teil vorgestellt und ausgewertet werden soll.
